Thanks for the insight -- this was an insta-buy for me so it's sad to see that it's lacking. I'll probably wait to start it a bit before ME3's arrival (see what I did there?!).
Movie Titles Used in Movies
Yeah, that part made me at least roll my eyes when they used the dlc's title prominently. This dlc had a lot of parallels to Vermire, I just wish choice mattered more.

Your review nailed it - the "no-choice" aspect of the DLC seemed to be a direct contradiction to ME2's nature, both thematically and gameplay-wise. Overlord at least had some emotional resonance, while Shadow Broker had more diversity and story than most of the missions in ME2 (not to mention one memorable boss fight - "Guess we have to do this the old fashioned way...").
Yeah... I stayed up hoping they would release it early morning because I was so excited, then I played it and just thought, "oh... that's... unfortunate..."

I finished it last night, and wasn't quite as disappointed as you were. Maybe I'm blinded a bit by my love for Mass Effect. It was no Shadow Broker, sure, but I thought it was on par with Overlord. Wasn't that padded out with awful Hammerhead missions?
I hope that Batarian-human relations come into play in the next game and aren't just disregarded as a throwaway thing like a message in your private terminal. There's some intriguing potential with that storyline.
