Guitar Hero 3: Your Guitar Doesn't Love You.
Danger Shark | 5:25 PM on 10.28.2007 18 comments

For anyone who has, or is planning on purchasing Guitar Hero 3 for the 360. I strongly suggest holding on to your receipt. Upon setting it up and sitting down for a few songs I noticed something. The "Green" button was entirely unresponsive, couldn't get a response to save my life. So, I called the store to get them to secure me a replacement, and I was informed that this seems to be a fairly common issue. I was the 3rd person to claim a defective guitar today. So, if you've got Model #: 95123 805 keep an eye on the little bastard, it just may stop loving you sooner than you think.

Luckily I've still got my GH2 Guitar.

Mine did the same thing. I pulled out the neck, popped it back in and then the strum bar didn't work, but the green button worked. I then pulled out the neck again, and gave it a good shove. No problems to report anymore.

There's this weird stutter every once and a while when you do star power.

looks like I'm just buying the game on this one. Rock band will be here soon enough.

Yeah, I’ve been playing on Expert since the original game, and I’m definitely missing notes that I shouldn’t be. It’s like, “Okay, I definitely hit that note, that’s bullshit!” You have to press down the buttons pretty hard to get a response, and you can’t let go even a bit, or sustained notes will end. Oh, how I wish I could plug my old SG controller into my PS3...

That sucks balls

That's so strange everyone is having so many problems. Mine's doing just fine.

Hope mine stays alright...although since this is my first GH game I haven't done much damage sticking to "easy."

By the way, I can't beat Lou to save my life!

@Grim "There's this weird stutter every once and a while when you do star power."

I've had that a couple of times in the beginning, haven't noticed it after the first hour tho. It was really weird..

Good to know

Yeah if you play for a long period of time, it seems to go away.

Also, Lou is so fucking cheap. I beat every single song on hard mode on my first try (5* for all but 4) and then got to the last battle. It took me 8 tries to beat it and even then it was 99% luck that Lou lost.

Why in the hell was the difficulty increased by so much on the last song?

@Grim - I have no clue man, but that's exactly what I was thinking! Like I said, I'm a newb to the game and have to play it on easy. I got through every song with a 97% or better* and can't even compete with Lou.

Also, props to you guys on hard and expert...maybe my day will come!

*Except Slayer's Raining Blood....my GAWD!!!!

I haven't bought GH 3 yet, but I had a problem with my green button with GH 2. It was a pain in the ass, but I don't think the problem was as common with GH 2.

Haven't had any problems so far with the 360 version...
except that the tracklist in the 2nd half of the game is kinda bad.
And the guy they got to do Stevie Ray Vaughn is fucking horrendous.

Guess this means I'm buying weightlifting supplements this week instead of this game, it's too bad, I was hoping for a solid experience like GHII, oh well, I still have to practice until I can hit the expert difficulty.

Shame, because I like the Les Paul's better than the X-plorer's design. Good thing I can't get it right now, so it will hopefully be ironed out.
