Quick question: Do dtoid editors go over to Japananator and blog forum questions about going over to their site there?
No offense intended, just curious.

Just asking meng. Also, I hate you now for the Francesca Dani pic. I <3 cosplayers. Except (see above).
@Blacksheep: I agree. I've been to Otakon a few times already, and those people get seriously annoying. The last time I went I think they finally made a rule against it because they were getting out of hand and swarming the people in costume. I'm going again this August, so I guess I'll get to see if anything has changed.
They COULD do with free alcohol... even though that will never ever happen. Everyone I know that goes to cons are most of the time are drunk being that its the only way to tolerate it all. I was planning on attending Anime Boston fairly loaded on Jack but thankfully I didn't or else I would of been waiting in lines for hours.
Cosplayers in general should cease to exist; cat ears can go away with them. In fact, all "otaku" should cease to exist.
Things to do away with at Cons:
-Elevator Parties
-Kids talking about how cool they are for being "wasted"
-Male Sailor Moon cosplayers
-300 lb Felicia cosplayers
-Con security that think they can do whatever they want
-People that dont respect basic hygiene
-People that like to talk about how they "only had like 1 hr of sleep in 3 days" because they seem hardcore
-Lame viewing rooms - I know the big companies dont want fansubs, and Japantor has talked about how fansubbing hurts the industry at large, but I was introduced to a large amount of anime through fansubs shown in viewing rooms. In recent cons they have shown nothing that has remotely piqued my interest in buying on the dealer floor, but there have been some awesome shows in the past few season to air in Japan.
-People with signs "Free Hugs", "Will Glomp for food"
Thats all I can think of right now. =)

What they could do without? The stupid little bastards who form groups and wander con halls chanting stupid shit. Fucking idiots. Also the mentally challenged people that beg for hugs and glomps. I dont know about anyone else but having some smelly motherfucker that i dont know runwhat up to me and purposely bump me and then yell glomp and run away just doesnt do it for me.
What could they use more of? DEODERANT. For fucks sake, the last con I went to mentioned that a shop inside the hotel sold speed stick at moderate prices. When the con guide mentions the smell that emits from some people...chicks included... its time for a fucking revolution. It gets to the point that after the first half of the second day the gaming room is uninhabitable by anyone with a sense of smell.

we could do without Sailor Bubbas.
We could surely do without fat chicks trying to be chicks half their size.
We can do without the constant FFVII/KHI/KHII cosplayers. You can only see so many different shit/hot shit variations of semi ok characters.
We can DEFINATELY DO without the constant nerds who apparently don't know deoderant or at least bathing. Seriously folks. You're around hot and smart people. You're not at home.
...just throwin the most common.

OH GOD THE HYGIENE.
Seriously, if there's going to be any sort of party or rave at a con, people need to fucking clean themselves, an use deodorant. I went to AnimeNEXT in New Jersey about a month ago and the "rave" was disgusting. The set was alright, but I really only went to watch two of my friends string.

I have been to ONE anime con, and that was AX '08. After spending much of my time trying to keep my unit tucked away, I've come to the conclusion that there needs to be:
1) Fewer lame jokes by the event hosts
2) A limit on how many packing-box Gundams are allowed onto the grounds
3) Fewer fat men and women trying to fit into costumes 3-4 sizes smaller than they are
4) Cosplay that ruins my image of the characters forever
5) Questions during the Q&A panels that make me fight the urge to get up and slap the person with my neighbor's unit. I refuse to damage my slap-hand on retards. (Jyukai and David Hayter come to mind)

Francesca Dani is kinda ugly but I definitely think cons could use more really hot cosplayers or hot models wearing cosplay.
