That drives me nuts too. Reminds me of when I had a bordello of roommates with dogs. They wouldn't clean their shit or want me to up their rent to hire a regular cleaning lady, so I eventually kicked everybody out and moved to a smaller place :)
I hope the folks taking those pictures are wearing hazmat suits. If not i wouldnt be suprised if they were dead in a week from some new unknown virus.
I liek how all the trash is catagorized by what they are. and the amount of cigarettes in there is sickening
here to echo "makes my place feel clean" comments, also, I have a corner in my kitchen that is still pretty bad, it's where my retirement fund is accumulating (or, all my empties.)
Kinda reminds me of Nodame's room when Chiaki cleaned it one day and the next day it was horribly messy again. XD;;

I have an aunt that's a hoarder... her house (from my memories of the few times I went there as a kid) looks like this. She doesn't live there anymore. Her sisters forced her into a home so she didn't kill herself under an avalanche of loose change, old food, and newspapers. Her house still looks like this and the grass in the yard is probably 5 feet tall.
The first apartment I ever lived in was usually pretty unkempt. We'd have dishes stacked, empty boxes and such lying around and we were both lazy and didn't want to clean.
All that changed when we got a notice saying: "Clean up or Get Evicted." Since then, I've been trying harder to keep my space clean. It's a bitch having to go back to several weeks worth of dirtiness and clean it up.
