Now, I'm not asking either system fanboy. I'm asking the fighting game fan:
Which version would you get.
My instincts tell me that the PS3 will be better for the controller, which is better for fighting games. It seems that it looks a little better, though the differences aren't easily apparent.
The 360 may have more online players. But then again, maybe not. Amazon sold more PS3 copies than Xbox 360.
For those that saw my post about the new Wii Cooking Mama 3D title this morning, this is a heads up to let you know that the post has been updated with new pictures straight from Majesco.
Okay, it's no secret that McDonald's Southern Style Chicken Sandwich is a direct rip-off of Chick-fil-a's standard sandwich. But, somehow, this is a lighter sandwich. The meat isn't quite as tasty, but it works.
I totally dig the simplicity: steamed buttered bun, juicy chicken, and a pickle. Again, a rip-off, but it's good.
I rock the Snickers bar almost out of instinct. It's the perfect candy bar as far as taming hunger goes.
Anyway, while running errands today, I grabbed what I thought was a normal Snickers bar and a root beer. Not looking (while driving), I ripped it open and bit into it.
I was like, "what the fuck? This tastes like Las Vegas!"
Turns out I was eating the new Snickers Adventure Bar. It's a limited-release bar that serves as a tie in to the new Indiana Jones movie.
After the first bite, I got a hit and a whiff of that artificial coconut flavor that they use to make certain Las Vegas casinos smell tropical. It tastes and smells a lot like the Malibu booze, which is totally fine by me!
There's something else kind of spicy in the mix, too. Altogether, it tastes really good. Happy accident! I want another. read more
Not to long ago I said I would share my import hauls on this very c-blog, and so I'm continuing that today. Today is different though - there's no games or cds or figures here.
Do you know what my favorite thing about Japan is? It's not Akihabara. It's not the games or the anime or whatever. It's the junk food. My joy of any Japan trip I've made is the daily raid of the closest konbini to get bagfuls of the crap that I love to eat.
I was supposed to go to Japan this month, but plans fell through. It will be a few more months before I go, but my stomach and tastebuds could not wait any longer. I had to have some food - and most asian markets (other than maybe Mitsuwa) can't supply what I need. Import time.
My favorite thing is bread. I can't get enough of it. I imported several fruit breads, creme bread, and brown sugar bread. I just ate one of the ichigo pan this morning. Yom.
I buy the Karl/Kurl (Kaaru) corn puffs for nostalgic reasons. My father would buy them for me as a kid. You see cheese and salt flavors here. There would've been one more bag, but I already ate it. Also not pictured is a bag of okonomiyaki chips - I feel like shit after eating all of them.
You can get those Baby Star snacks and the Koala cookies in the US sometimes, but I like the mini bags, and ordered a row of them. Back behind the calbee chips is a 5 pack of what is basically instant yakisoba. That shit will make you fat, but I don't care.
Finally, we come to my beloved Lotte Custard Cakes. Really, they're glorified Twinkies, but the texture is superb.
I'm a total fucking geek. I'm one of those that throws his hard earned money towards useless crap. That crap usually comes in a box that came across the ocean somehow. I got one of those today. I thought I would blog to share my import booty. I'll do this as regularly as I import stuff. You'll make fun of me when you see how often that is. Trust me.
Yeah, I know. Figures are for fucking losers. I buy them monthly, so what's that say about me? This time around I bought a full box of the new Konami Gurren Lagann figures. The whole set is displayed here. I got duplicates, but I promised them to Topher. I also nabbed a couple of the new Haruhi Suzumiya Figuremeister trading figures. I got a bunny-eared Tsuruya and a super cute Yuki.
What's the rest of the shit? There's two "shooting watches." Each is a sort of minigame that tests how many times you can press the buttons in a set amount of time. I seriously scored 69 in 10 seconds earlier. Not that that's good... it's just 69. They're from Hudson, and my favorite is the Star Soldier one.
And yes, to knock my nerdity out of the park, I buy game music. I ordered the Silent Hill 3 ost -- I'm ashamed to say that I didn't have it. I also picked up the 2-disc Crisis Core OST. If you're into this geek shit, you'll agree that it's a pretty amazing soundtrack.
If you import crap, I'd love to see your stuff. read more
