Woo hoo! Sribblenauts came out today! Long months of avoiding any Scribblenauts related media has finally payed off! I literally couldn't wait to get out of class today so I could pick up my pre-order copy and get home. Which is probably why I got a speeding ticket on the way home from Gamestop. Wait, no, I was freaking profiled!

So I know this is a video game blog and what not but let me vent here. I drive a fairly nice, if old, car. It's a '99 BMW 318ti and I love it almost more than life itself. And yes, I do drive it fast on occasion, but for the most part I'm a very careful and courteous driver. Which is why it was such a surprise to me that I was pulled over today and told I was doing 65 in a 55. First of all, the cop told me he got me doing that speed in the left lane of the exit ramp I was on, which is weird because I was behind people doing the same speed,
in the right lane. I firmly believe that I was pulled over because of my young age and my car. I was going 65, but that was the speed that traffic was moving at, I wasn't passing anyone. I think the cop knew this too, because when he came back to my car with the ticket, it wasn't a speeding ticket at all, rather he had written me out a ticket for failure to obey a traffic control device. This guy was just trying to meet his quota and he knows I won't fight a ticket that doesn't come with any points on my license. Meaning I'm just gonna pay this and he's gonna get credit for stopping someone and issuing a ticket. It's bullshit, but that's life.
God Damnit!
So yeah, on the brightside, Gamestop got their shipment of Rooster Hats literally right as I got there. Meaning if I had arrived any earlier, I would have only gotten my game and had to come back for my hat. And as you can tell by my header image, I look damn good in it. As does my Stewie plushy, which is where the hat will remain when I'm not wearing it. So yeah, I've had a bitter-sweet day, time to play Scribblenauts!

I feel for you. I drive at or below the speed limit around where I live since it's a huge speed trap due to being right next to the police station.
I doubt you'll let it dampen your eagerness for Scribblenauts. It's an awesome little game. :)
When you said you were profiled I fully expected that you were wearing the rooster hat when he pulled you over because he was racist against rooster people. In fact, I'm still going with this theory.

He just wrote me a random ticket instead of a speeding ticket, either to be nice or because he figured I wouldn't fight the lesser ticket. I've had it happen before, about a year ago I got a seatbelt ticket instead of a speeding ticket.

Well I was tempted to wear the hat on the way home, but the chin strap is pretty tight on me so it was uncomfortable. It would have been funny as hell if I had gotten pulled over with that on.
"Traffic control device" is the best convoluted way to tell you that you disobeyed a speed limit sign.

Last night this cop followed me very closely for a while, it was really irritating but he couldn't find a reason to pull me over so he left after about 10 minutes of stalking.

Sucks about the ticket, but at least you got the game and hat. I haven't picked up the game yet so I'm still avoiding everything written about the actual game. Hopefully I can get it and WET tomorrow after I get paid...

Yea so I went to go get my Rooster hat since I pre-ordered the game and paid it in full MONTHS ago only to find out that the GameStop I pre-ordered from decided it would be fun to just randomly give the rooster hats out to whomever they felt like until they were all gone. Fucking GameStop.
I wonder how many puzzles you can solve with POLICE OFFICERs and DONUTs.

Have you tried the level builder at all yet? It looks pretty deep. Also, I love the rooster helmet on Stewie. It just looks right.
