Whats up Destructoid?
My name is Sean McLoughlin and I've been sent from the futurepast to march with my fellow robots to victory. For Niero!
My favorite games can be numerous (as I'm sure is true of most here at Dtoid), but my all time favorites are Final Fantasy VI, Diablo II, Bioshock, Braid, Demon's Souls and Metal Gear Solid. I never rent games and I rarely trade in or sell the games I buy so I have a pretty massive game collection. For the sake of space I'll just list the consoles and portables that I own: NES, SNES, Genesis, Game Gear, Game Boy Pocket, Game Boy Advance, Playstation, N64, Playstation 2 (one original which is broken and a Slim), Dreamcast, Gamecube, Xbox, Neo Geo Pocket, Nintendo DS, Nintendo DSi, PSP 2000, Xbox 360 (red-ringed once), a fully backwards compatible Playstation 3 and a Wii.
I'm a video game designer and an RPI graduate with a degree in Games and Simulation Arts and Sciences. When I'm not working with my development group Darkroom Games or gaming you can probably find me reading a science fiction/fantasy novel or something on Cracked.com. My favorite authors are George RR Martin, Terry Brooks, Garth Nix and Terry Goodkind. I'm also a big fan of movies, my favorites right now are The Departed, Smoking Aces and Crank, although my all time favorite movie/director is Reservoir Dogs/Tarantino. I don't watch much TV and if I do its usually Discovery channel or Science Channel. I love Professional Wrestling, Y2J SAVE US! My favorite band is obviously The Grateful Dead although my musical tastes are quite varied. I listen to everything from T.I. to Metallica to Toby Keith. Also, MC Chris FTMFW!

Darkwatch It's not something I'm proud (or ashamed) to admit, but I am a Mark. A video game Mark specifically. Lots of you are probably marks too. Whats a mark, you may be asking? Let's let Urban Dictionary tell us: A person identified as an easy target, or "sucker". A mark is always the short end of a joke or scam, and is never let in on whats going on. A mark is usually being cheated out of money. So whats it mean to be a video game mark specifically? It means I'm a sucker for zombies, pirates, vampires, robots, ninjas, cowboys, blood, gore, big guns, little guns, big muscles, bigger boobs, fast cars and mega lazers. Really, when I look at some of the games I hold near and dear (besides the obvious stuff like Final Fantasy 6 and Bioshock) I realize I'm into really campy games. Take a look at one of my favorite games from the last generation: Darkwatch. It was a game that stared blood and guns and oh yeah, a vampire cowboy. Hell yeah. Stuff like that just makes me drool. I love the campyness, I love the action and I love the fact that it's delivered to me in a way that only video games can. I have to admit, I realized I'm a Mark (and subsequently decided to write this blog) last night while experiencing the awesomeness that is Gears of War 2. But hey, as long as I get to keep chainsawing aliens in half from the groin up, I'm happy. And that's all that matters. TL:DR Video Game companies have me right where they want me and they know it.

I'd be more bothered by people who don't like this kind of "campyness" in their games to some degree.
Your blog reminded me of the Chappelle Show skit at the Playa Hater's Ball, where he addresses "a diverse array of mark-ass marks, trick-ass marks, punk bitches, skig-skag skanks and scallywags, ho's, heifers, heehaws, and hoolihoos."
I will buy any fighting game released, the reviews be damned.
Those are my weaknesses.
And I'm not talking about the "one night sex, awkward morning" kind of used either. I'm talking about the "take your money and your time, you'll never get back" kind of used.
