Whats up Destructoid?
My name is Sean McLoughlin and I've been sent from the futurepast to march with my fellow robots to victory. For Niero!
My favorite games can be numerous (as I'm sure is true of most here at Dtoid), but my all time favorites are Final Fantasy VI, Diablo II, Bioshock, Braid, Demon's Souls and Metal Gear Solid. I never rent games and I rarely trade in or sell the games I buy so I have a pretty massive game collection. For the sake of space I'll just list the consoles and portables that I own: NES, SNES, Genesis, Game Gear, Game Boy Pocket, Game Boy Advance, Playstation, N64, Playstation 2 (one original which is broken and a Slim), Dreamcast, Gamecube, Xbox, Neo Geo Pocket, Nintendo DS, Nintendo DSi, PSP 2000, Xbox 360 (red-ringed once), a fully backwards compatible Playstation 3 and a Wii.
When I'm not in
school or gaming you can probably find me reading a science fiction/fantasy novel or an issue of Wired or some such. My favorite authors are George RR Martin, Terry Brooks, Garth Nix and Terry Goodkind. I'm also a big fan of movies, my favorites right now are The Departed, Smoking Aces and Crank, although my all time favorite movie/director is Reservoir Dogs/Tarantino. I don't watch much TV and if I do its usually Discovery channel or Science Channel. I love Professional Wrestling, Y2J SAVE US! My favorite band is obviously The Grateful Dead although my musical tastes are quite varied. I listen to everything from T.I. to Metallica to Toby Keith. Also, MC Chris FTMFW!

I'm sorry, that was out of line. I'll show myself out.
So, is she available?
Also, an ex of mine got me a PSP for my birthday one time. I made sure it was a gift FOR ME. Makes it easier to keep that shit. I'm sorry for your loss though. Sucks about the girlfriend too.
I'm sorry, that was out of line. I'll show myself out.
First time I've smiled all day. I love all of you. But I love Mr. Sadistic just a little bit more. <3
@Takeshi
=P
I don't know how appropriate it is to fap to this article but I did.
As Mr Vanor has made abundantly clear today, losing the Wii was the obvious worst loss.
Oh and I'd probably go for the HDTV first. Otherwise you'll keep putting money into more games and it'll take longer to get.
Like Falinter, I will fap this article not for its content, but for its author.
I hope you're able to cope, but considering how much support you're getting from the Dtoid community, I'm sure you're able to see that you're not alone!
<3 LOVE YOU MAN!
So... I would head for the TV first. Nice TVs make everything better. Also, take a break from the ladies for a while and don't jump right into another relationship. Just focus on a little personal gaming and DaedHead time.
You should save up money and get a kick-ass TV during the Thanksgiving sales. Hopefully it'll mmake it easier to save up for the PS3.
@GoldenGamerXero
Awesome clip! And yeah, we're trying to be civil about everything. We're both hurting and we both still care about each other, she's just not happy and wants a change. I'm willing to give her that change, as much as it hurts me.
@Mag
Yeah, I feel hollow inside but I know I'm not really alone. I'll be able to cope.
@Steel Squirel
I moved out of my parents house at 17, I had a girlfriend then who I kept all the way until I was 20, when I met this last girlfriend, whom I've dated ever since (I'm 23 now). In other words, I've never been living on my own and single at the same time. Quite frankly, I'm kinda excited to see what it's like. The bachelor life sounds appealing.
However, I'm too much of a social butterfly to ignore the ladies completely, it will be a long time before I'm ready for a real relationship though.
Stay strong man.
Hey man, I feel you on that one. I was with the same girl for almost 10 years. From 16 to 25. Was even married for a few of those years. I'm 28 now and enjoying the single life quite a bit. There's plenty of time for serious stuff later. It is crazy being out there on your own after being with someone for so long, but it is also pretty damn exciting and fun. You're gonna have a real good time, buddy. ;)
But to answer your question, consoles first then focus on the HD upscale.
Seriously though, good luck finding a place! Studio apartments aren't that bad if you're by yourself, so don't worry about it.
Thanks man, it helps a lot to be reminded that not only have other people gone through what I'm going through, some have been through way worse.
@Grafkhun
Studio apartments are ok, I've had one before. But I didn't have two cats back then, and it's them I'm mostly worried about. A studio apartment would drive them nuts. =\
All I need is a kitchen a bathroom and a place to put my vidya games. I'd be all set in a studio if it weren't for the kitties.
If you need any help, you can count on me.
Listen to this? Maybe it will help put things in perspective?
One thing I can tell you for sure is that being a good looking, good natured, single guy at 23 can lead to some pretty god damn awesome times. Things may start feeling more fun for you sooner than you think.
At least, I hope so.
All I can say is that if it's not going to work in the long run, then you're better to move on to find that person that you know you'll be with for the rest of your life!
It doesn't make things any easier right now... but you'll be happy you are single when that "right" gal comes along!
Thanks, I'm listening to it right now. It's kind of depressing but also kind of comforting. Especially the part where the girl talks about how breaking up is one of the most common things in the world.
It stands to reason that you will find someone who is more caring & concerned about you instead of being a selfish#@*($@($@* the next time.
The HDTV(s), PS3 and Wii are hers. Ouch. Credit card time!
Is the sad tale of many a human heart.[/i]
Sorry to hear things didn't work out for you and your lady.
Just start saving money, and then impulse buy whatever you need further down the road. Though a nice HDTV will make-a the video game ladies much more fappable!
@The RPGist
I don't think I should disclose that because she doesn't do anything and she lives off of a trust-fund her grandfather set up for her. Whoops.
Let it all out!
Looking at all of the negative things in one sitting can really make you feel like you dodged a bullet. Also... there sure are a lot of damn trust-fund kids these days.
getting the sweet TV would be best first since you never know how prices can drop randomly :3
I'll pick up up in about 20 minutes.
Nah you're not late, I've always wanted a blog that had two pages worth of comments, too bad it took losing my girl to get it, lol. Seriously, I appreciate the well wishes, from you and everyone. And I'll probably start hanging out in IRC a lot more once I'm settled in my new apartment. I'm looking forward to that.
@Ron
I trust that it will end up well. I found a pretty good deal on an apartment today so hopefully when I go look at it tomorrow it will be as nice as the property manager says it is. If it is I'll sign that lease and the healing will begin.
