Nvidia Geforce demo shows us.....Doug Jones?
DRAV3N | 7:57 PM on 06.01.2007 7 comments

The good people over at Nvidia have recently released a few snippets of what their new GeForce cards will be bringing us.
One of the videos is a real time rendering of actor Doug Jones, who has been in more movies then your probably aware of, most memorable, the hand double in the movie Idle Hands.

The "Human Head" demo as its being called has some pretty impressive numbers behind it. The real time video is being processed at more than 1.2 billion pixels every second. You may ask yourself, "So what does that mean to me?"

well first it means, Damn that looks good. Second it means that if you
have the hardware support and the cash, say $829.99, which is the starting price according to Nvidia's SLI Marketplace, You too can possibly play the somewhat next gen of PC games in Direct X Level 10. But, if your like me you'll still have to be content playing counter-strike source in dx8, with the lowest settings just to squeeze out more FPS on your crappy 256 integrated video cards.. well maybe if your Just me.

you are still running DX8? are you running an 8 year old computer or something?

My computers about a yr old, not meant for gaming however,
I can run DX9 but when you run CS:S in DX9 with all
the settings at low, its basically running at DX8, no HDR, bloom or other effects running.

Okay, so i'm bragging, and i'm a dick for doing so... But i'm probably getting this same system soon. Only i'll be getting it with 8800s instead of 8600s. It's mostly for my 3D rendering and high def photoshop work, but i look forward to the games as well. I'll probably make a nice big review post for you all when (and if) i get it.
