I did it. I sold my Wii, bought an Xbox360 (elite) and acquired a TV.
I feel strangely more grown up now. It's not as if I felt less grown-up with my Wii (I had a very good 7 months with it) but, now that I don't control every action with the flick of my wrist and I can play with anybody I want on the internet, I feel like i'm doing things properly.
I'm not going to start hating on the Wii, far from it, I still believe that some of the upcoming titles for the Wii will be some of the best games this year but now I agree that Nintendo (and some of the third party game developers) have fucked up.
In conclusion, I feel better for buying an Xbox and, if I get enough cash, I'll probably buy the Wii again.
Also, I need more friends and more games.
(I actually bought my Xbox last week but, by some horrible chance, my internet was cancelled the day after and I've only just been reconnected now)
@shadow
I didn't have enough money to buy an 360 without selling my Wii.
I do really want to play SSBB but, apart from that and No more heroes, there is nothing else I want to play on the Wii.
Y@Shadow, that was totally what I was thinking. Wii is getting good shit now, but I mean, I still play my 360 way more. Then again, I play my ps2 more than my 360...
I have everything but any of the Sony lines (PSP or PS3). I would get them but way too expensive now. Besides with games like Lost Odyssey, and others coming out for the 360, you'll be plenty busy.
I would have waited then. There are a lot of great Wii games that people aren't paying enough attention to is the problem... Trauma Center is one of the many underrated titles...it's so fun.
I tried suggesting this very thing a while back in your initial blog, but i guess my blackberry doesn't like to post comments on Dtoid (also why I've been forced to lurk the site more then i wanted.) Although I cant fathom waiting anymore for smash Wiis are in high demand right now and you should have gotten your money back if you sold it to the right person.
That's weird. I'm only just now starting to play my Wii for a change. I started Metroid Prime 3 the other day and love it. I also got a few other games for Christmas. With those few titles AND Smash coming out, I'm more pleased I have a Wii than ever.
Also, that was a weird last phrase or so. Damn you, Nintendo.
So Nintendo fucked up and Microsoft didn't? I seem to remember something about a RRoD? Do you just feel that the RRoD is a lesser evil than whatever it is that Nintendo is fucking up?
Don't get me wrong, I definitely believe Nintendo has some serious issues with the friend codes and lack of voice support, but Microsoft is not necessarily the good guy in this case.

Congrats, IMHO that was a good choice. What games do you have?
Um...you shouldn't have sold the Wii, you should have just bought a 360.
And you decided to do this a month before Smash comes out? Strange...

Shame on you!

Tut tut. I can't believe you went through with it. I thought you would have stopped yourself "just in time". Meah, at least you can play Portal now.

welcome to the 360 crowd! :-)
