I liked king of the hill, it wasn't in your face comedy were the jokes are thrown at you at face value. If you actually think about Koh is can be funny sometimes.

Firefly sucked, and The Simpsons stopped being funny a long time ago. I was never big fan of King of the Hill, but at least it's a better alternative to shit shows like American Dad and new-ish Family Guy.

I never saw a great deal of King of the hill but I agree with Conrad, the humor was a lot less in your face than shows like Family Guy which may have turned off some of this ADHD suffering generation, but I don't think it's fair to say it was shit.

Just because you didn't like the delivery doesn't mean there wasn't plenty of humour, though I admittedly couldn't see myself watching it as regularly as other stuff.

All the shows mentioned in this blog and its comments so far have sucked except Firefly. Newer episodes of the Simpsons aren't as good but they're still better than 99% of everything else on TV.

I hated American Dad at first, but it's tolerable now and a few of the jokes are actually funny.

King of the hill was great for what it was. Better than Simpsons now and these new family guy (ugh..all these stewie/brian episodes need to stop.) and american dad....lol phail.

good shows being cancelled? I look at Futurama more than anything that was on fox and killed off for a stupid reason. Firefly not so much. I'd put Dark Angel up there too seeing it's before the whole world began sucking Jessica Alba's cock.

Most shows on FOX, and tv in general, suck, but FOX has House and Hell's Kitchen, so they're ok in my book.

Ehh. It had a long run.. and according to that article, it will still be going thru 2009-2010.. I liked a couple of episodes of KoH, but I still think Bevis&Butthead was better in a way.. (the one KoH with Snoop Dogg voicing a character was cool.. & also the one where Hank sniffs turpentine and falls and has visions of that whack-a-mole game and other art-induced-hallucinations was hilarious)..

To me, I've wondered why can't any network do Sci-Fi right without first pushing it to late night and then outright canceling it?

King of the Hill was an excellent show. Ban this asshole.

king of the hill has been consistantly good since it started, never quite becoming excellent, but also never screwing up and becoming a pathetic parody of itself, like family guy, the simpsons and now finally south park have.

unlike those shows, king of the hill didn't have to resort to shock tactics or references to current events too heavily and instead concentrated on simple themes that were more relevent to everyday life.

although i can't say i watch it every week, i am very, very sad to see this happen. worst decision since futuramas cancellation.

It was a good show, and it's quite obvious you don't seem to understand that television is a business, therefore it's in the best interest of FOX to continue airing shows that bring in money and also canceling shows that do not make money.

Most of Fox's animated programs are hit and miss, there are good and bad episodes, even The Simpsons still has the occasional gem. I must say though that I love American Dad, it's like Family Guy but without the awkward cut-away jokes.

King of the hill is so original man its nothing like the simpsons save for the fact that its an animated show... Its Mike Judge's more successful show his other show beavis and butthead only ran for 4 years... It was an awesome piece of American history

Yes, we all understand that TV is a business and nobody wants to make crap - everyone involved in King of the Hill wanted to make it the best show ever. That's just what makes it so deliciously ironic, because the show WAS crap. It couldn't decide whether it wanted to be season 1 Simpsons with real-life drama and touching moments, or be a balls-out Family Guy comedy with hilarious situations. The mishmash never worked for me. Perhaps its your favorite show ever. It's my least favorite cartoon of all time. Worse than Alvin and the Chipmunks.

I watched many an episode of KOH, mainly because of what came on directly before or after it, and every time I wished that this, a prime time cartoon, was actually worth watching. Instead, I just wound up sighing. KOH is like a sigh-a-thon.

Will there be another prime time cartoon with sitcom-like situations that involve multiple family members and their wacky friends? You betcha. I'm just hoping The Oblongs or Family Dog gets another go.
