Little Big Planet Mini Music Studio

Ignoring the title and what is a potentially flame-bait article, the one tidbit about mini music studio is interesting. lets ignore the rest for now.

It seems every little morsel of info I hear about Little Big Planet makes the time between now and its October release date seem that much longer.

It seems you'll not only be able to create your own levels, but the game looks to provides you with the tools to edit music for your levels. This sort of freedom for the end user is unrivaled in console games. I like that they plan to provide new editing tools post release for LBP. It could go a long way to keep the game feeling fresh. Now only if October would hurry up and get here.

Well hopefully if this game is successful it will force MS to rethink their stance (as suggested by the article) on user-generated content. With the recent Halo 3 Edge teaser that seemed to suggest Forge was expanding to include AI bots, perhaps they are already taking baby steps in that direction? If you could combine AI bots into new game modes, my interest would be piqued.

Truer words have never been spoken.

The biggest reason I played the hell out of Starcraft was because of "Use Map Settings" and the endless supply of interesting, fun and bizarre user created maps people came up with. It was ridiculously robust and yielded amazing replay-ability.

This is the exact kind of game I've been waiting for since those days.

Similar to Gantz here, I played Warcraft II and III almost exclusively to make quirky maps and units, and I played RPG Maker on the Playstation even though it was so cumbersome because I could make totally hilarious and stupid games with it.

XBL could do everything LBP needs atm except importing images. Technically they could but i think they're too concerned about giant wang & flappy vag levels to bend on that.

It'll be interesting to see how many mini-scandals like that arise in LBP & how they're handled.
