I noticed something among the Wii and PS3 in their Designs. Basically they're consolized versions of the DS and PSP. The interface on both are very simular to their portable Counterparts and both can interact with said portables.

But the XBOX360. Hmm there's just something about it. Some that screams SEGA. I got that vibe that the Orignal XBOX was picking up where the Dreamcast left off. With all it's fighters and some very unique games in it's own right plus all the good post Dreamcast Sega games seemed to end up on the XBOX while the Gamecube got a few mostly the cutesier and the PS2 got mostly shit...and Virtua Fighter.

Last Gen Became Next Gen and Next Gen is our Current Gen. The 360 is really shaping up to be the Sega fan's true home. Only the fattest nerdiest Oozing with pimple pus anti Microsoft wapanese nerd would disagree that the XBOX is the Refuge for the fan of Old School Sega. Sega when it was Good. Sega when they thought outside the box and made some of the most unique and fun games around. So This Morning I'm gonna Look at some games that really help my argument that the 360 is in fact in a good way the Dreamcast 2.

Case 1
Sega Rally Revo



Sega Rally 2 helped define the Dreamcast as the home for great arcade racers. Rally Revo isn't really that great actually. I mean what I played of it was solid but it lacked the polish.
Something alot of Sega Games lack these days. None the Less it's decent enough to invoke memories of the Dreamcast classic.

Case 2

Sonic Adventure 3 to some. A step in the right direction to others and to most gamers a heaping pile of horse shit. I'm in the Minority of People of people who actually like this game. I do consider Crisis City to be one of the greatest Sonic levels of all time (at least when you're playing as Sonic) actually.....I'm listening to the BGM for it now while I type this. It has it's glaring flaws but it was a step in the right direction. While Sonic games continue to flood from post mortem Sega we haven't seen an actual Console adventure from the little blue Whorehog in awhile. I think Sega is learning from the mistakes made here and the next time we see console sonic we'll see a sonic game that Most people agree.....doesn't suck. This is a Greatest hits title now on 360 and I do suggest picking it up even with it's flaws it's still a really really fun ass game.

Well here we have an ACTUAL Dreamcast game on the 360 in the form of an XBLA download. I just got the full version an Hour ago when I was inspired to do this piece.
Unlike the previous two it's not a case of old sega classics made by people who didn't make the originals. This WAS made by the Genius behind the original. Interviews with Mizuguchi-san stated this version of Rez was the game he always intended. In HD Widescreen. Now I have the PS2 Version and it looks great in stretched wide screen of course there are still jaggies and the PS2 Version just I dunno seems choppy. The Vibration was strong though. The 360 controller does a good job and 4 controllers being used for trance vibration is like the best thing ever. Get the 800 points and download what I consider the True version of Rez.

Case 4
Ikaruga



Rabidly insane fanboys are going to call for my head for saying this. But the Most overrated shmup of all time is on it's way to XBLA. Now also before you call for my head I should also say I own this game 3 times over. On Dreamcast, On Gamecube and a Burn that includes other Dreamcast shmups. From what I understand this will be the Exact same game it was on Dreamcast and not the slightly gimped Gamecube Version.

Trigger Heart[/b]



Another actual Dreamcast game. With Music right out of the "generic shmup ost bin" I beat this last night and It's a solid bullet hell shmup. I have this on dreamcast on the same burn Ikaruga is on. It's absolutely gorgous on 360 with a smoother frame rate than the Dreamcast version and a few flaws fixed as well. Dreamcast was Shmup Heaven and this one of a few examples as to why I think the 360 might match it.

Omega 5[/b]



Wait WHAT? This isn't even a Sega nor a Sega related 3rd party game not only that it wasn't even on the Dreamcast to begin with. Well yeah but there's no doubt this game would be on Sega Hardware if Sega hardware still exist. It just oozes that Sega charm and reminds me of the Psikyo shmup Sol divide, Which saw a Saturn Port. While it features the most annoying new feature in Shmupping, the Dual Analog control it's challenging it's fun and it's freaking gorgeous. Something any Sega fan will appreciate.
