According to Gizmodo who took some info from some weird looking shenanigan dude called HDGURU, spelled some beenie rumors that theres going to be a similar price cut war, but not between PS3 & Xbox, but now its between Sony, Samsung, LG, and all other HDTD retailers in the next coming month of may. They say around $200-$500 will be knocked off most HDTVs.

So if you been holding out this entire year for a HDTV price to drop lower more than ever, it looks like around May or after, the HDTV price war will begin. Not bad as I wont complain, ill wait for them to battle it off and whoever wins victory, I will buy their 40" HDTV 1080p for $500. :)

Also... be careful for killer dolphins coming out of the HDTV's to eat your children... theres a rumor that this pricecut will include them...

Sweet, maybe I�ll finally be able to convince my parents to splurge and get a big one for the living room; my 26" LCD doesn�t quite cut it.

I have a 20" LCD now but I wouldn't mind a bigger one in a year. I had a bigger TV before, but 20" HDTV wins over 27" SD
CRT. It's a good TV but playing 360 games on an HDTV makes so much of a difference.

I seriously hope this is going to happen as well. My 27" SDTV broke so I am using a like...20" SDTV to play GTA IV on. It fucking sucks.

I was going to buy a 42" 1080p for $999 last week, but...I'll wait and see if they drop. If they do, I am definitely buying one up, even if it only dropped a couple hundred.

Dolphins can be highly agressive psychopaths. Don't kid about dolphins or they might leap off the screen into your den. HDTV Factoid: HDTV's have been around for over 30 years, esp. in Japan. So what? Why aren't they cheaper already?!? I feel pwned by HDTV and in a no-win.. PWNED if I have one or PWNED if I don't. I do have ATSC 720p tho. :P

And remember boys and girls: if the TV isn't at least 42 inches or higher, 1080P will not make a difference. Happy spending!

Actually 1080p on TVs under 42" is somewhat of a liability for gamers. If you set your PS3 (for example) to 1080p on a small HDTV, you get tiny text syndrome on the menu and games that run in 1080p natively (not many). And if you need to run everything in 720p to read it, whats the point of your extra ps?

Dude I'm confused. I'm saying if you want a 1080P tv...don't bother unless you get something that's 42" or bigger.

I think you're saying if you set your PS3 on 1080P on a smaller HDTV (less than 42") then it sucks.

So essentially we are saying the same thing?

For one, I am an sdtv owner, and would also welcome a change. Maybe its about time..
