After reading jim's blog just made me realize that by late 2008 or 2009, whenever R* decides to bring the DLC to the 360 homes, who will be bringing back GTA4 back from the dust books.
I for once bought the game and I do enjoy it, allot, but after the next 4 days, I wont be touching it again for a while, and when new games start coming out, im afraid is going to sit next to my grandma for house decoration.
This boggles my mind if people, in late 2008-2009, with all the games that are coming out by then, will bring back GTA4 to buy and just play the DLC parts? by that time gas will be $18 a gallon, so I don't think people will be able to afford the DLC due to increasing gas prices.
Was Microsoft $50,000,000 investment in the game a good choice? Well they are sure going to send the Gates Mafia out to R* joint to start beating people up. I think R* should have not taken the deal if they weren't going to be able to deliver it on time, cuz you can't double cross MS, we all saw what Bill Gates did to Homer Simpson in that epidose, thats some scary shit.
R* not delivering? ok guys, this is the plan...
Its very easy to take a game as an event commodity, like movies. Who still watches the Matrix? No body. But who still breaks out great older games like Street Fighter III, Zone of Enders II, Mega Man (anything), X-Com, SimCity 4, even years after they've had their sales spotlight?
::raises hand::
And if the DLC is compelling enough, even slightly, I'm sure plenty of other people will come back to GTAIV
There will be people who haven't even played it yet by 2009.
It's been a system seller for years with past iterations. Don't put it past people to be holding off on buying a console for awhile and this being their first title they pick up.
