Ok well after the 360boys flames have died down a bit from the flaming on Sony's new (could we say XBL equivalent?) Online experience Qore. All of you who flamed should stuf and read before you rant, Qore is an enhancement to the PSN experience, not a "we are removing your free shit and dropping the ball like XBL" with a mandatory 50$/year to being able play with your friends. Ive been keeping an eye and seeing what is it that can make me dish 25$ when I can right now still play online for free, download all sort of stuff, video, demos, movies, themes, wallpaper, ect ect, and still have video chat with Yojim, Shipero, Sadistic, Hapuken while we watch Sadistic play naked twister solo.
Ok so lets start with the price. 25$, it is half of what XBL cost, but what else does it give me that I don't have now? Why should I dish 25$ for something that I honestly don't see the extra of what I already have.

Qore™: Presented by The PLAYSTATION®Network is a monthly interactive video production covering the world of PlayStation. Qore provides its audience with exclusive behind-the-scenes access to developers and their games, from both the SCE Worldwide Studios and the third-party community, where the audience member can control and direct the content. Qore members will also be treated to stories covering PlayStation in the community, and exclusive announcements and footage on upcoming titles. In addition, members will have access to their own area of the PLAYSTATION®Store, where they will find exclusive game demos, special beta test invitations, add-on game content, select PSN games and other DLC. Every Episode will feature new and unique DLC that is made available specifically for the Qore audience.
Well ok, so probably some free DLC? add-on game content? that would normally cost me couple of bucks if I just bought it by it self? well to me I am not a DLC fan, I actually try stay very well away from it. I know you Rock Band fans spend each month about 25-50$ on new songs, which its fine and dandy, so most of you wouldn't mind.
Special beta invitations - could be a big "meh" or could be a plus if it were games like Metal Gear Online. I wished I could be in home creating my virtual room n all and have more inside previews of that, or little big planet, even if its a demo I would love to be playing that game, so this could go to my experience as an ok, it might be good.
Behind the scene access? Well I am into the whole "behind the scenes" interviews because me personally I like to know how they did the game, what troubles they went through and the whole inner scoop might help one day if when I work for a gaming studio.
Honestly I am not too intrigue by it from not having purchasing it just yet, I am however curious how it will develop. This is of course their first start up to a better online experience? I can only guess right now. I went online on the PSN and saw that the first issue is 2.99$ by it self, so now I am confused if I just purchase the 2.99$ I will get access for this month content only? is it limited or is it exactly what I am getting all the services for 1 year but only for a month? I would like to review Qore a bit better, but not sure if to spend 2.99$ if it isnt the full experience or just buy the whole year for 25$.
Have any of you guys gotten it yet, and if you can give us a bit of your experience, we would like to know how you feel after getting it. Honestly this totally reminds me of the PS Underground Magazine, didn't each issue have a interactive DVD of everything, just like Qore is offering? Which it was a cool concept, but if I remember right, PSU failed miserably due to high priced subscription.
Calling All Cars for free with the $25 purchase aint so bad...
And ads when you paying for the service? wtf? Well I guess I can't blame sony, they are loosing money for maintaining the free service and each sold PS3, they need to make money somehow.
It seems incredibly odd, though, that certain pages require you to watch advertisements considering the fact that you're paying for the service.
I take issue with people calling the stuff "free DLC" or "free game".
This would only entice me with access to a beta that I'm interested in, otherwise, I'll pass and continue to appreciate the free aspects of PSN.
Also, a publisher based press? No thanks.
Specific content for Qore users? Sony does understand this makes it closer and closer to XBL?
Demos should be free, you are trying to sell a game through demoes, not trying to sell demoes (Meh, GT5P).
Free games and PSN DLC is fine though, not a bad incentive.
But Qore specific DLC content better not be in-game shit that are barred because its only available to Qore subscribers.
But overall, I don't care. I rarely download demos so losing some doesn't matter. I get enough videos from other sites so I don't need their video service. Only DLC I get is Rock Band stuff so that probably won't hurt.
A bit curious though... What would they plan up for Qore when Home launches?
