I wont Lie... and no, no Gametrailers corrup.... mistakenly comparing videos, zing! @_@!
Come with me unto this rule of thumb, what makes car racing games fun. All in one video.
as as much I admit I love GT5P and how my noengine/no tranny/stillunborn 3rd gen rx7 will probably never look as sharp and perfect as it does GT5, I must admit that GT5 is the most realistic racing game ive played. (Confesing I dont play much car racing games), and by saying this, I downloaded Grid for the PS3 (I think) but haven't had the chance to play it since im working 2 full time jobs and my play time has been reduced to practically a milisecond.
So what say you curious george reader, have you played both? which one is more fun to play, online pla, and what are the highlight of both games. After watching this video I am actually thinking of getting Grid, just not so sure how much fun it is.
I will admit something about this video dough... no racing game video will EVER!!! AND I MEAN EVER!!! show how fuggin awesome it is to show a HD dull car bump as the one shown above!
I actually got to see this off the GRID forums, entertaining, though it kinda makes GT look boring after thinking about it. Must not be a total Carphile.
I tried the GRID demo and I had a hard time staying on the road and I deleted after trying a few times.
Unlike GT5 where it looks like you are going slower than you actually are I found that Grid makes it seem you are driving a rocket. I thought I was going mega fast and then some old lady pushing a shopping cart went by.
Yea GT needs damage. I don't know how they can call it a racing simulator with no car damage. In a race if you sideswipe a car your car gets damage. No damage has made this an actual tactic in GT5 races. Sideswipe and use some1 elses car to take corners faster while pushing them into the dirt. No consequences for doing it.
GT has always been the king as far as graphics and number of cars available. But as far as simulations go, Forza is the most realistic w/ non-Newtonian physics even tire load physics that measure how heat influences the pressure & distribution at 6 different areas of contact on each tire. Graphics aren't as wow, but as far as emulating how cars act it's more realistic.
The most realistic is a game called Live for Speed for PC though.
oh and GRID is an AWESOME & FUN game. : D

I'll have my GT5.
I am tired of GT lack of damage and sense of speed just to maintain its pretty as hell visuals.
I personally loved Grid seeing as it had both graphics, realism and uber-damage!
