fix that cancer of yours? Correct me if im wrong but, in this past 2 weeks, there has been almost 1 to 2 RedRingers per day in Dtoid, and showing a increasing rate. And here we have Microsoft acting like everything is good, smiling, chilling, making money, their system is selling over selling competition, the games are selling, XBL users keep spending 50$ a year, so money is flowing all nice and perfect right?
Then why wont they fix their goddamn console??? Look at the PS3, it has a Enormous Fan, probably thats what the 360 needs? I honestly don't know whats the exact fix but, from 2005-2008 there has been no form or way to fix it? Seriously, if Sony released new technology like the cell and BRD laser, and able to already reduce its size dimensions and power consumption, and price in under a year, Microsoft can't solve the RROD? I honestly can't comprehend that.
Why not release a new console that has the air space, the fans, newer chip/MB that doesn't burn out, a fixed DVD player that doesnt scratch the living shit out of the games. What? they can't make another SKU???
Jesus... they can make many SKU's but not a 100% nonRROD SKU... why? they say their making money, that their this gen's console winner, then fix this already.
Why do they keep making money of you when they fail at their services, how many more of you are going to keep throwing money at the moneypit just so you can play your games?
3 Year warranty is not a fix, its a stubborn way of saying "Hey, be satisfied with this, and dont worry, we will make allot more money off from you when your warranty expires" "oh and this doesn't count disc crash, HD crash, MB crash, or the Red Light of Death" (sucker)... seriously, I can't believe all of you guys with a 360 don't revolt to MS to fix your console fully, or give you a life time warranty since they cannot fix it. Or just don't want to cuz it would cost more money.
Sorry for the rant but one of my good friends 360 crashed while we were playing at work. He brought it so we could play at lunch time, the only time I actually get to play during the day and it dies on me playing... I was so pissed cuz I had some of the hot girls from work dig how I played GH, and then PEW! screen freeze, restart, death... Im pissed and this wasn't even my console... I felt so bad cuz now my friend has to go through the whole crap of sending it, and since it died while I was playing, it feels like it was my fault... and now this is the new joke at the work place... keep Crunshii away from games! he kills them! -_-
I honestly don't know how you guys can take this.
These blogs are getting old.
Also, it is "a lot", allot means to designate something for a purpose.
Jimmy alloted two hours for his history homework and one hour for math..
As for older pre-HDMI systems, there's another mobo design finalized that they're producing now which they switch out into the boxes of older RRoD 360s which wont RRoD; again using the 65nm chips.
The RRoD came from the boards overheating & uneven Pb-Free solder balls not smelting completely . So the heat caused the board to expand & when it cooled it contracted again. This after a while would cause the cracks in at least one of the Pb-Free (that means Lead free, its an environmentally sound new form of solder) to lose contact causing RRoD.
So the source of RRoD was the lack of a large enough heatsink & their Pb-Free contracted supplier supplying imperfect balls. Both of which were fixed last August. The RRoDs that persist are mainly from units made previous to Aug of last year & refurb units made previous to Aug last year that were exchanged.
So in conclusion, it shouldn't have happened in the first place; But MS is & has been actively trying to fix it.
"We are first console to 10 million (but it took us longer to get there)."
"We are number one console (excluding the other one that that has sold millions more than ours)."
It's like really?
How are they slowing down? I see more death toll per day on Dtoid than ever before, and now personally at work.
I'm just going on what i've heard. I would be interested to know in the % that failed being manufactured prior to Aug 07, and the % that failed being manufactured Nov 07 on. Aug 07 is when they fully began shipping w/ a larger heatsink & Nov is when they fully began shipping w/ 65nm Xenon CPU; halo 3 editions were the first to feature it, but only about 1/2 of them had it. the heatsink was reduced again after the introduction of the 65nm CPU. the GPU was also shrunk, although to a much smaller degree (80nm).
I'm not sure when they got the new BGA supplier though or if & when they refined their solder process. i would guess it was at the time the new mobo design was implemented; but that would just be an educated guess.
the revision coming this summer (Jasper) will be made by the same company producing the 40GB PS3s (Pegatron, a subsidiary of ASUStek); so if there was any lax caliber in the staff overseeing the production hopefully it will be gone.
