Viva Pinata on the DS announced
The title says it all. Its been confirmed that Viva Pinata (Xbox360 X-exclusive) is now headed to the Nintendo DS. Which will bring allot of speculation because... um...
ITS DUH! M$ IS SELLING GAMES ON A DIFFERENT CONSOLE!?! WTF???
[Just a quick history lesson, Viva Pinata is a RARE owned IP game, but RARE is now owned by Microsoft. couple of years back RARE was free and made excellent games for nintendo until Microsoft bought it, and then the owners left.) ever since then RARE hasn't been doing good as they used to. and I think they stopped making games for nintendo, I am not 100% sure so please clarify me for that
Yes yall might say, "Well its the DS, M$ doesnt compete in the hand held war" but still, its breaking the rules. You know? why help one of the competitors? Yes the DS has a huge install base but, if it was just about the money, then why not release it on the PSP as well? hmmm?
Some might think since Console problem rate rising, senior M$ members are jumping out of the boat, and selling stocks that M$ might head the other direction and join with nintendo to make sure Sony doesn't dominate this round? a very good possibility... last time I saw something like this happened was Sega games coming to nintendo after the Dreamcast fall.
Were rare in charge of diddykong racing that was just released on the DS as well?
Microsoft have been quite vocal in their support of Nintendo. I guess you missed all those stories. The bottom line is the bottom line.... DS is huge, there is lots of money, so Viva Pinata moves to DS. As for the PSP, the install base is insignifigant in comparison, and thats why no PSP release (plus the whole anti-sony thing). Hope that cleared things up for you.
A Microsoft-owned IP has already come out on DS, MechAssault: Phantom War. Also, Rare hasn't been doing so hot since the end of the N64 days. That's one of the reasons Nintendo was willing to sell them off to Microsoft. They still can come up with the occasional gem (Such as Viva Pinata), but in recent years it's been more miss than hit.
sounds like an advertisement for the 360 version brought in DS form.
Mxyzptlk's right, Age of Empires a MS game made it to the DS, along with Diddy Kong Racing DS which is a RARE game.
Totally forgot about Age of Empires, duh. :)
And I believe It's Mr. Pants came out for the GBA after the MS buyout.
Hmm, more examples.....I think this has moved out of the realms of conspiracy and possibility and into "Well....DUH!" territory. Microsoft lurve themselfs some money, and nintendo help them git sum without hurting their own profits. No brainer, rumor confirmed, Wii60 is a GOOOOOO!!
Not to mention that Viva Pinata would sell to the DS audience a lot better than the PSP's. If the platforms were similar and a port was easy business then I'd maybe call shenanigans, but the DS and PSP are way too different, hardware and user base-wise. It doesn't even make sense to bring it out on PSP.
Microsoft is just putting support for the ds because xbox has no plans to have a handheld console yet and anyway that Microsoft can screw over sony then they will. M$ and Nintendo are not coming together i do think we could see a halo ds which would kill the psp here in America
