These images came in from my good friend in Taiwan. He has no source were this images came from or what magazine it is from, but hey, he found them :) it looks like these images are the latest brand new screenshot of FF14. It shows the same races and classes that were in FF11 but in a more super HD version from their old models. It seems that Square-Enix is going to just play it safe and continue the same style from FF11, honestly nothing different except that it looks like a super upgrade. If this was teh case, then SE should let old school players bring their old accounts into the new game. Just because you know... there is absolutely nothing different from the old to the new except enhanced graphics, and here I will explain how by describing what I know of the FF MMO on these pictures. 1. Male and female versions of hume, tarutaru, elvaan, and just like FF11, only male version of Galka and female version of Mithra races. 2. Hyuran, no idea if this is a main character or a new job class or race, would be nice if someone from Dtoid JP team could help translate. 3. This is the same Paladin clothing from level 50-60 in FF11. This is the same Artifact Armor in FF11 along with shield and sword. 4. Lalafell, again, no idea what this means except that those are Tarutau. 5. Roegadyn, another Galka again, not sure if this is a main character or what. 6. Black Mage Elvaan (old pervert model) from FF11 in his Artifact Robe (level 50-60) just how it was in FF11. 7. A Hume with an Axe? idk could be like a woodworking carpenter from a synth guild.
As you can see, SE did pretty much nothing new on these images, they are the exact same job class and race's as FF11, some of them have the exact same clothes, and the only thing to be exited for is that they got HD+... I mean seriously? ever since SquareSoft died, did all possible originality from SE died? I mean if im going to be purchasing this new MMO, goddam I expect something new, at least a new fuggin race other than the same boring races from the 9 year old MMO. For this I would stick to playing FF11 since it has years and years of advancement. Once again, I am exited yet depressed because I am not seeing anything NEW or INNOVATING. The new system they are talking about for FF14, is that players dont get EXP or LEVEL up, their weapons/armor/smith level up. This already exist in FF11 in the world called Dynamis. Where players collect rare weapons, then take about 2-4 years collecting rare coins to upgrade those weapons into their Ultimate weapon to just do bit more damage to monsters. Honestly NOT WORTH THE ????ING TIME you spent on the game. Of course you can trick/lie to people into joining your cool guild and tell them that in order to join they will need to help you upgrade your stuff first, but I don't like this type of fun. Sorry, just having flash back from FF11 and the aggravation players had to deal with the system SE had. Wished Square-Enix would put a new race at least... New jobs? meh why? they can implement new jobs to FF11, so nothing new here even if they did. Sorry if I sound pissed but after hearing that SE has been working since 2005 on the NEW MMO and the latest images are just nice renders but with the exact same models from the old version, this really pisses me off, they been working on how to make the old characters look HD? or it took them 4 years to allow players to actually jump on the game? ARGHHHH!!!! I feel like this woman right here... SE is trying to steal our purse but im going to...
So yea this is the new system SE is talking about that FF14 is going to be based on, so far nothing new except brand new HD version of the old remake, I guess they just want to bring in the same crowd from before and keep collecting the same cash as before... What do you think about this? am I over exaggerating or is it dead on?

Personally, I am so excited to stretch my tiny little legs again. I will miss the word TaruTaru, but...
Lalafell.
Lalafell. :D
LALAFELL :D :D :D
I saw this article about a minute after I finished reading your blog, haha. This'll shed some light on all of the questions brought up in your blog.
"Eorzea is home to five races which, although they have different names, look quite a bit like the races in Final Fantasy XI. You have the Hyuran (Hume in FFXI), Miqo'te (Mithra), Lalafell (Tarutaru), Elezen (Elvaan) and Roegadyn (Galka), and as you'd expect, you can fully customize the look your character no matter what race he or she's a member of. Hyuran are further divided into "midlanders" and "highlanders," and Miqo'te are divided into the diurnal Sunseekers and the nocturnal Moonkeepers, though how this affects gameplay is still under wraps."
Thanks this really helped allot, I liked what I read about the system, but until I see a demo of it I can't rest in piece. I will lighten up about the job system as well until I see it in action, the one thing that still bugs me is that even so they changed the name of the characters to... more confusing names, they are still the same. :( this makes me feel worse about it.
FFXIV = Lalafell
FFXX = Midgetdogperson
this race is usually powerful in magic and weak in strength.
Hahaha. I prefer most of the FFXI names, although Elezen sounds more pretentious and fits the Elvaan race much better.
I'm seriously really excited about this. I think I'm gonna be devoted to this. I just hope the payment plan is gonna be relatively cheap. I can't wait! I think a solid Hyuran WAR/BLM will suit me well early on.
@ VideoCognito,
I remember when I leveled blm back in 2004, people got pissed @ me because I decided to lvl blm/nin. They said stop being a noob and subjob a real job, when they noticed I was a Damage Dealer + able to tank for 3-6 hits, they were blown away.
I got blm from 0-51 in 3 days, when MPK was still around lol. god im still addicted to FF :(
Haha, "real jobs." I mean, in the grand scheme of things, a Hume WAR/BLM makes little to no sense; it'd just be really cool.
And Video Cognito, I LOVE YOU TOO.
Why is Square Enix torturing me T_T just fucking let us play.
Also, Crunshii, lol that's one of my favorite .gifs . Had that in my photobucket for yearssss. Good stuff.
I fucking cannot wait to play FFXIV now.
However, I definitely agree with your skepticism, Crunsh. I feel like they kept the races too similar to FFXI, and people will wind up calling the races by their FFXI names, and that is going to irk me. Hopefully we will see more racial diversity at Gamescom, but I feel as if THIS is what they'll be bringing to Gamescom.
I like the idea though that the races have different sub-classes, the Highlanders, Moonwalkers, blah blah blah. Hopefully that will change a lot.
Also, i will be makin a Miqo'te
talking about being supremely lazy...
SE Director talks to Art director: "no no No No NO! DONT BE CREATIVE! Don't change their stupid clothes, we spent money on that already before we are not making NEW, just edit the old shit and make it HD! jesus whats up with Art Directors trying to be creative... goodness sake."
