About Me

Just a guy who loves to talk video games a lot. I try to be funny and fail a lot, but I swear I'm worth having around.

I'm an older gamer (read:30) and I like to look back on all the good (and bad) that I played through in the before time.

I don't game as much thanks to my 2yr old daughter, but I do keep up on the latest things. As far as she's concerned, well she likes to hit the buttons a lot, which means she could win a few rounds of DOA.

Tiger Woods 08 has problems (with glitch video)
CronosBlade | 8:51 AM on 08.30.2007 5 comments

I rented it and I don't even need to talk about it. I was thinking about getting the Wii version, but now I'll wait for another developer to take a shot at it. I'll let Gamespot kind of sum it all up in one paragraph though (I did rent the 360 version).

"And that's the big problem with Tiger Woods 08; it feels like a good idea that wasn't seen through to completion. There's too much here that simply doesn't work, particularly in the Xbox 360 version. The 360 crashes in the same place during the Tiger Challenge, making it impossible to finish, and you can't upload highlights to the EA server. Both the PS3 and 360 versions have periodic lag, glitches, and freezing issues when played online; the game face upload site doesn't work; and the single-player suffers from glitches like golfers vanishing, taking drops when they weren't supposed to, and a way-too-sensitive analog swing."

This all ends by saying the 360 version is 6.5. They go on to recommend the PS3 version.

Which got a 7.0.

GG EA. Die.

Yeah, that's EA for ya. Funny they didn't say anything about the Wii. I'd be interested to know if the same problems exist on the Wii. My buddy Chad was considering picking it up.

What appropriate timing.

I am actually playing this right now (half day at work) and my ONLY problem is that YOU CANNOT HIT THE DAMN BALL. It is so overly sensitive that after 4 years I have had to change my Tiger playing style on the controller. It needs a patch like GH2 got with the whammy bar being messed up, because I am crying on the inside my shots get shanked wide right every other shot.

My roommate actually works on this game, which is awesome because he brought home the ps3 version and the 360 version. He was telling me last night that there will be a patch coming out in the near future, it's in certs with Microsoft right now.

The gameface site is actually done by a company outside of EA, and they blow.

I totally agree with you. Exclusivity is killing EA's ability to put out new games. They keep saying "next year, next year, it will be everything you want!" I write about my grievances with EA on my blog too. I link to your posting as well, hope you dont mind.
