About Me

Just a guy who loves to talk video games a lot. I try to be funny and fail a lot, but I swear I'm worth having around.

I'm an older gamer (read:30) and I like to look back on all the good (and bad) that I played through in the before time.

I don't game as much thanks to my 2yr old daughter, but I do keep up on the latest things. As far as she's concerned, well she likes to hit the buttons a lot, which means she could win a few rounds of DOA.

So if you missed it, the new Marvel fighting game from EA Chicago

So from the Fight Night/Def Jam team is the game that hopefully won't be like Imperfects. EA treats me like the stepchild sometimes. I get all hopeful for a Christmas gift and get a drunken punch to the head instead. What? NO DADDY NO.

Err.....anyway. Apparently this time you get 2 blocks of city enviroments to chunk and beat each other through. It looks nice (as does most EA stuff) so it'll come down to the gameplay.

It's hard to see but they show Cpt. America, Hulk, and Juggernaut in the brief gameplay. Only two signature things I see were Cpt. America's shield throw and Juggernaut doing a footstomp and earthquake the nearby area.

Looks pretty good but as always just because a preview looks good doesn't mean the game will be.

So, I take it that this game will be #2678362187361287 in the long, storied line of crappy licensed EA games?

I might be in the minority here, but that actually looks like a very fun versus multiplayer.

Then again, I'm a sucker for all things Marvel. Marvel: Ultimate Alliance kept my attention for way too long and I still periodically play Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 on PS2(yes, I own it and no, I'm not selling it on eBay for $80)

Well, the DefJam games (at least the old PS2 era ones) were pretty fucking great. Also hilarious if you make an ultra-white wigger to play through the story with.

So I dunno, this could be cool, though I really hope they have more environments than just a generic city. It was hard to see anything because the video was so dark most of the time.

2 words: cel shading. If you're going to do a *shudder* 3D Marvel game, at least make the characters and world look 2D. It was awesome in Ultimate Spider-Man, even though I hated that game.

What the fuck is up with the character voices? Why does Hulk sound like a fucking T-Rex?
I'm all for a multiplayer game *like* this (read: destructible environments = yes more please), but so far:
"That looks like total shit."

The physics and overall design look pretty craptacular at this point, but I like the concept. If they packed in as many characters as possible we might have something to work with here.

Hulk sounded like a Pinkie Demon from Doom.

The rest of this looks good in concept but the execution looks like garbage. Might as well call this Rise of the Imperfects 2: Back in the Habit.

It looks like just a bunch of movie rip offs, for some reason they must think these are movie characters. Hulk sounds like the movie version, I don't even know whos ass they pulled Doctor Doom from, and whats up with Cap and Juggernaut? How can you screw up a game that should make you money.
