So, I hosted a girl gamer tournament at the Phoenix Comicon this year...
I am absolutely terrified to ever do that again. I got offered a job to host other female tournaments in the area by a group that does it weekly. But it was an absolutely terrifying experience, between the girls bitching every two seconds to me about them getting their asses handed to them in smash when another girl was kicking her ass, and the complaints about the games in the finals that I though would be funny to be seen played as a final game: Cooking mama, Taiko drum master. Stuff like that.
I never wanted to punch a baby so bad than that moment...
So I wonder, should I ever take charge of another girl gamer tournament ever again?
I have been offered a job to do it over the weekend, but after that, I have my doubts...
the few tournaments I've been to have always had people like that, it doesn't matter what gender they are.
I think someone made a post sort of about the same thing, but when people are playing in tournaments, they basically take everything positive out of the game (for me anyway).
I wish I remembered who posted it, because they basically said everything I would say here.
No matter what you do, there will always be someone who isn't happy with how you did it and will gladly take their opportunity to bitch and moan. Like trolling idiots who post links to the forums in a lame attempt to be some sort of clever cblog police when giving an answer (or at least a funny response) would probably have taken just as much time.
... oh wait a second, seems someone already did that here...
If you can put on your tough skin and enjoy organizing a tournament despite all that crap, I say go for it. If you can't stop it from getting to you, then maybe you shouldn't.
Like kacie said, some people will find something to complain about, "why this level?", "why time limit?", "you should've banned [insert character, gun, map, etc]".
Just see what the general reaction was, if most of the people didn't complain and were having a good time then you were doing a good job and should keep on doing it.
Now you know what it's like for men to deal with women in every instance... except if you punched or choked one of them you wouldn't be "abusive" and "unfit to raise children"... it would have just been a chick fight.

really posted or blogged here all that much, and if I did, it was something retarted.
But it's great to come back again and I hope to meet some pretty cool people here.
P.S: Regardless of my name,I am sometimes confused to be male, but I am a chick to throw
that out there. But it really shouldn't change your opinions about me or anything I post.

Don't let them get you down. Keep at it! Anybody who only occasionally wants to punch babies is OK in my book!
What is a girl?
