THE DESTRUCTOID UNOFFICIAL COMMUNITY VIDEOGAME AWARDS 2008!!!

I brought the idea up the other day to some folks around the internet campfire (Hell) that we should honor the best games of the year as a community. Several handfuls of llicit drugs and cases of Guinness later, I present you with the ballot that Hell has produced for this years awards.

DISCLAIMER: This by no means is a definitive list. I'm sure that we forgot about some games that were truly amazing. So if you want a game included on the list that isn't available on the poll, then just do a write- in ballot with the name of the category and game in the comments.

Some of this year's categories include:

Game of the Year

Best Xbox 360 Game

Best PS3 Game

Best use of facial hair in a videogame

The Aborto thefetus "Worse than Cancer" Award

The Videogame Industry Against the Advancement of Minorities Award.. aka The Necros

AND OF COURSE WE CAN'T FORGET

The Unofficial Destructoid Hell "Bag O' Dicks" Award (detailed in my last blog)

No More Heroes was good... major oversight. Like I said though just say it down here with a category and I'll count them with the survey results.

Also, little known fact... the Nintendo Wii is fucking TRASH. That's why there are no Wii games on the GOTY list. The people in IRC didn't deem it appropriate to name a Wii game when I asked, so it wasn't included on the list. Add one if you'd like however...

No More Heroes made my goty list. I am not saying that Wii should've been filling up the GotY but No More Heroes was a game to get when you had a Wii and not a bad game by far...

@blindside: HAHAHAHHA NO WAY NMH is close to GOTY. It was a fantastic game, but far be it from being better than ANYTHING that came out recently for the 360.

No More Heroes is actually my favourite game of the entire year. In second is Lost Odyssey and third is Crisis Core.

Yeah that handheld list is sort of bollocks. Why did you only put Square remakes/ports along with Locke's Quest for DS? There were plenty of other good original games for the system this year... honestly DS and PSP could really get their own categories still. Soundtracks always make or break the game for me. It adds a little something extra. But like you said, do those votes that aren't on the list via the c-blogs. That would work. I like the idea of a Dtoid poll very much. I wonder what the results will be.
