It is with a heavy heart I bring you this news. Dirty old man and amazing comedian, actor, and author George Carlin passed away today at 71 from heart failure. I like to think of myself as a funny guy and I watch a lot of comedians, with that said Carlin did a lot for stand-up, really pushing the boundaries when no one else would. Carlin said some shocking things, some obscene things, and some vulgar things, but he always had a point, and always said what we've always thought. The world of comedy and the world at large will miss this great man. Good night sweet prince.
That is sad. He was a good comedian. He said what he wanted to, and didn't care what people thought. I remember watching a show about him, and they said he got arrested once for cussing on stage during a show. This was back during the 60's I think. I laughed when I read that.
He was my favorite comedian of all time. I didn't agree with everything he said, but at least he was funny. The news of his death is indeed sad, but it's even more sad when I think about the fact that he probably isn't going to Heaven. Anyway, he will be missed by me, that's for sure.
I saw the news when I got up, and then I posted it and then I peeked through the blogs and now I see you put it up a little while ago...This sucks....Carlin dying really sucks, and that this is now the second time you posted something I did earlier sucks too....It is definitly a sad fucking day...The song 'Send in the Clowns' is stuck in my head...
Wow, this will go down in history as one of the saddest days for comedy. George Carlin was truly a legend in every sense of the word and in my mind is without question the greatest comedian of his generation and likely will be the greatest for many to follow. He had a way with words like no other, especially when it came to analyzing language, his greatest talent in my opinion.
What really sucks (for me at least) is that I had just bought tickets to go see him this coming fall! My only chance to see the legend himself and it will never come to pass.
The man was amazing and one of the people that taught me to always question authority and never take anything at face value. It's a sad day when he is gone but Dane Cook still infects the airwaves.
Along with Lenny Bruce, George Carlin is responsible for any great comic that doesn't follow tradition. Comedians like Patton Oswald and Mitch Hedberg all owe their careers to this guy.

Yeah, I just read about it. I wasn't a very big fan of his work, but I did think he was pretty spiffy. Pretty sad news.
...it is truly a sad day in comedy...
...
Whoa.
Wh-what?
Are you serious?
Oh. Shit. :(

He will be missed. :(
Damn, this is the first I've heard of it.
Wow.
That sucks.

A Genius is lost. My favorite comedian of All time. I still rock his monologue on my side bar.
God. Damn.
Well, we’ll always have “Complaints and Grievances”...
Damn. That's sad.
His most recent special was pretty funny. Considering how old he was.
But... I thought he had at least ten years of bitter, educated comedy in him.
... :/
this news just fucked up my day :(
Sucks. RIP.
No. Fucking. Way.
My mom saw him doing stand-up last week in Vegas. This is so damn sudden.
I have never EVER been upset or cried about anybody famous passing away, but the second I read that he died I started bawlin :(
I just wanted to meet him :,(
I had so many chances to see him live.... ;_;

Sad loss indeed
Bummer...

I remember being nine years-old when I stumbled on "Mr. Conductor" talking about blowjobs on HBO. I skipped my senior prom to see him perform live.
I'm really at a loss.
I was never a fan, but it's always sad when one of the old classics passes on. I'm very sorry and shocked to hear this.
George Carlin died? That's fuckin horrible! I don't even know what else to say.
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK
Why couldnt it be Dane Cook?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
This is almost as upsetting as when Kurt Vonnegut died ;_;
George Carlin will be missed. To me, in my opinion, spoke the truth. That's just me.
I cried when Eddie Guerrero died...now I'm at it again...

George Carlin, you will be sorely missed.
Let us repeat each of the seven dirty words in memorandum.
This is very sad news - he was by far my favorite comic. I'll have to re-listen to his albums!
I just woke to read this.
Fuck.
I know he was getting on in life but i always felt a strong respect and admiration for George Carlin. He was truly a master of his craft.
If you've seen his last HBO show we'll know that he's not up there now looking down at us.
Thank you George.
I just bought another one of his CD's, the day he died... eerie feeling.
This totally just ruined my day.
another great philosopher lost.
The man was amazing and one of the people that taught me to always question authority and never take anything at face value. It's a sad day when he is gone but Dane Cook still infects the airwaves.
REally, really sad. There only a few famous people I can get upset about their passing and he is one.
raise your glasses to a great man
