The developers told me that each secret agent in the old days had a hidden stash of gold for the family to pay for the agent’s burial in case they were captured. “Supposedly” Violette Szabo’s gold stash was never found, and is still in Europe somewhere. From what I could gather, there will be an Alternate Reality Game within Velvet Assassin, ultimately leading to a map revealing the location of this real life gold. An example they gave me was that you might find a series of numbers on a wall in the game, which would correspond to an eBay auction for a WWII gas mask, which would have another clue located on it.
