We all know that 1UP
doesn't particularly love us. It's understandable when you have competition. But when we get to have our day, let us have our fucking day you twats. Most other game news sites that have reported Mr. Destructoid in Bomberman LIVE have at least been up front about it, whether they like it or not. but the
bitchasses at 1UP won't even respectfully give us a nod. The title in the link I just posted is "Bomberman Live Download Pack 2 Next Week". And there's a much smaller subtitle below it that reads "Hudson teams with popular gaming blog".
FUCK YOU PHILIP KOLLAR
Nowhere else in the body of the text was another mention of DToid or a "popular gaming blog". I had to (unfortunately) read the article 3 times before I even saw the subtitle, that's how downplayed it is. Looks like you are the "popular (and I use that term loosely) gaming blog" now, because we sure as fuck aren't, we're the World Famous "I'm in vidya games" Destructoid. So blow me Philip Kollar. And blow everyone who works for, contributes to, and loves DToid, and maybe one day you can learn what it is to write for a "popular gaming blog".
EGM = Win (though not as much win as Dtoid but those are two totally diffrent things).
Also: Dtoid needs a magazine.
That's just MO on it.
Novelty. It would be awsome to hold Dtoid's news in my hands. I could care less if i've already read it, I would read it again on real paper. I just like that feeling.
Guys, I summed up the love and hate over here.
never heard of them...
Odd...very odd...
Anyways, you really should find out the full story before passing judgment on someone. Phillip is actually a pretty standup guy and I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation for the way the article came out.
As far as the 1up editors, I've always liked Crispin, Shoe and Mark Macdonald. There are some other interesting writers, but those three vets have always stood out in my mind
Not that it matters because nowadays I subscribe to game informer instead of EG (gamestop discount cards ftw) and I read destructoid over 1up.
It's just buisneees.
None of them are still with the company. :\
