About Me
I am the Deputy News Editor at Destructoid. I write about videogames for a living. That last sentence is as awesome as it sounds, though not always in the ways you might think.

I also play host to Destructoid's live streaming satellite studio, Couchtoid. From there, we broadcast Backlog, an attempt to work through my stack of old games one hour at a time (Weeknights, 10pm Pacific) and Saturday Morning Hangover where Dtoid writer Jordan Devore and the always lovely ImpossiblePlant play often painful games for your amusement (Saturdays, 10am Pacific).

I'm fond of all types of gaming, either on a screen or a tabletop. In terms of video games, my interests vary wildly from platformers (2D preferred) to RPGs and the occasional FPS. The greatest game of all time is Mega Man 2 and any suggestion otherwise will be met with swift vengeance.

About Rodney Dangerfield:

The mere inclusion of Rodney Dangerfield can vastly improve anything. Films, music, toasters, anything. In particular, the force of Rodney Dangerfield could elevate video games to the level in which they are accepted by the mainstream as a true art form, bringing together people of all races, creeds and tax brackets in peace and harmony.

RIP Rodney.

Sunday Ad Bargains, Week of 5/18/2008

Okay, something really weird is going on this week. It's not all that unusual to see a few of the same titles crop up in multiple ads. Still, there seems to be some kind of price war going on for Ubisoft's Imagine series of games geared towards patronizing young girls. Every single ad in this week's coverage has some kind of price reduction. It's creepy.

Other than that, though, there isn't really much of note. Okami is reasonably priced at Best Buy if you can get past the sloppy Wii controls. And Circuit City has Portal for $10.

Hannah Montana: Spotlight World Tour for Wii, $39.99

Neverwinter Nights 2: Gold for PC, $34.99

Okami for Wii, $29.99

Imagine: Figure Skater for DS, $19.99

$10 gift card with purchase of following titles
Haze for PS3
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian for Wii or 360
Boom Blox for Wii
The Dog Island for Wii

$10 off select PC games
Age of Conan ($39.99)
Portal ($9.99)

$10 off Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (GOTY edition) for PS3 and 360

50% off select DS games
Imagine: Fashion Designer, Babyz and Figure Skater ($14.99)
Zoo Tycoon 2 ($14.99)
Paws & Claws: Pet Vet and Pet Resort ($9.99)

Crysis for PC, $19.99

Used Deal of the Week: Need for Speed: Pro Street for PS3

20% bonus trade credit when used for reservation of Metal Gear Solid 4

$10 off on all Imagine and Petz titles for DS

Price Drop: Final Fantasy XI for 360, $14.99

All Imagine games for DS, $19.99

All Petz 2 games for DS, $19.99

Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron for PSP, $29.99

$10 gift card with purchase of Boom Blox for Wii

This sounds like a good enough excuse for me to finally pick up Okami on Wii.

Speaking of Star Wars Battlefront PSP, where is my new "next-gen" version for my 360 and PS3?

I'm sensing a trend, methinks some of these titles aren't selling so well?

Some pretty good deals on PC games. Too bad my computer sucks ass and cannot run most of them.

@MagicAQ: Okami *is* AMAZING and it deserves to be owned. The predominant complaint about it, however, is that the painting mechanic is very rigid about what a straight line or a circle are. So, drawing things with the wiimote is a challenge.

Still worth a purchase, particularly at $30.

There’s nothing here that I’m interested in, which is good, since I need to save my money.

Ten dollar gift card for Boom Blox doesn't sound bad. I might check it out, if I can find a Circuit City nearby.
