About Me

I am the News Editor at Destructoid. I write about videogames for a living. That last sentence is as awesome as it sounds, though not always in the ways you might think.

I also play host to Destructoid's live streaming satellite studio, Couchtoid. From there, we broadcast Backlog, an attempt to work through my stack of old games one hour at a time (Weeknights, 10pm Pacific) and Saturday Morning Hangover where Dtoid writer Jordan Devore and the always lovely ImpossiblePlant play often painful games for your amusement (Saturdays, 10am Pacific).

I'm fond of all types of gaming, either on a screen or a tabletop. In terms of video games, my interests vary wildly from platformers (2D preferred) to RPGs and the occasional FPS. The greatest game of all time is Mega Man 2 and any suggestion otherwise will be met with swift vengeance.

In particular, the force of Rodney Dangerfield could elevate video games to the level in which they are accepted by the mainstream as a true art form, bringing together people of all races, creeds and tax brackets in peace and harmony.

After a year away from what's probably the biggest gathering of Dtoiders in the US, I'm happy to say that I'll be attending PAX Prime this year. I didn't join in on the fun in 2009 because getting across the country for a weekend of drinking seemed like a bad idea at the time. But something has changed that makes my trip a little bit easier. Which brings me to the second reason for this post: I'm pulling up stakes. Next month, I'll be making the move from Phoenix, Arizona to Portland, Oregon. Now, we know nobody in the area and there are only two of us to unload the truck. So, I'm thinking, maybe some of the wonderful people in the Destructoid community would like to come by and lend a hand. More like hoping, really. If you don't have plans already for August 15th, maybe you would like to join us for some beer, pizza and maybe some vidja gamez once we get a TV set up? Oh, and unloading all sorts of crap from the back of a truck and putting it into a tiny apartment. Say something in the comments here and I'll be in touch.
