PAX Attendees - Come with me to the museum
Conrad Zimmerman | 12:31 AM on 08.27.2008 23 comments

Last year, while wandering around the city on the night before PAX, we decided to go and have a look at the Space Needle. Little did I realize that, directly beneath it's towering form, lies the Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame. And I really wanted to go, but there just wasn't enough time for me to check it out.

This year will be different. I'm determined to go and tour it. And, as if fate were calling out to me, they're having an exhibition of ROBOTS. There are no coincidences, friends.

So, I'm putting the call out. I think we should descend upon this place like a plague of robot-worshiping locusts. If you're interested in going, I plan tour the museum sometime between 3-4pm on Thursday. What say ye?

To better coordinate, it would be helpful to get a PM or an e-mail to conrad at destructoid.com with a phone number if you want to go.

Damn. I would love to but my plane's not touching down until 11PM Thursday. Have fun though... you can easily spend an entire day in the museum. Oh! And don't forget to go upstairs... the museum was designed by Frank Gehry, so it's easy to miss the way up to the rotating exhibit area.

Okay, I will!

All you have to do is come by the address I PM'ed you, and kidnap me! I've prepared the note and everything using an issue of People magazine.

That would be awesome... if I didn't have to pay to get in there =X. I'm barely even gonna be spending money for food...

I stopped in Seattle for two days before coming back to Canada and saw both the Sci-Fi museum and the Experience Music Project. Both were effin' awesome, admission to one gets you into both museums and they're directly connected.

Highly recommend that anyone that has the means should check both of them out. :)

Nice, but I'm not arriving until Thursday evening. Something to think about for when I do arrive or later on in the weekend. :)

You do this on Friday or Saturday and I'll go with you. I don't think too many people will be in until Thursday night.

3-4 pm is just on the cusp of too early for me. I get in at 2:30 and I won't be at my hotel in Seattle until 3:30 at the earliest.

Man, I saw this last year and really wanted to go to, but didn't for about the same reasons. Sadly, I don't think I can make it on Thursday. Possibly Monday though.

I was pretty let down when I found out it was gonna be labour day weekend... dang it, got some pretty pressing stuff to do this weekend, so I had to bail on PAX. There's always next year, I guess.

Comments policy

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

 about me

I write for Destructoid, primarily reviews and recurring columns. I'm probably best known for RetRose Tinted, a series which I began in the Community Blogs and ran for six months before joining the site staff and taking it to the front page. I also contribute to An RPG Draws Near and the recently minted Sexy Time! column as well as serve up a weekly collection of the best deals on games (and completely gratuitous photos of women) in Discountoid.

I'm fond of all types of gaming, either on a screen or a tabletop. In terms of video games, my interests vary wildly from platformers (2D preferred) to RPGs and the occasional FPS. The greatest game of all time is Mega Man 2 and any suggestion otherwise will be met with swift vengeance.

About Rodney Dangerfield:

The mere inclusion of Rodney Dangerfield can vastly improve anything. Films, music, toasters, anything. In particular, the force of Rodney Dangerfield could elevate video games to the level in which they are accepted by the mainstream as a true art form, bringing together people of all races, creeds and tax brackets in peace and harmony.

RIP Rodney.
