The end is nigh! If you want to win a Dreamcast from me, you're going to have to tell me the best way to give one to a fellow Dtoider. Time's running out! Full contest rules repeated below.
I scored two Dreamcast consoles today when a deal I simply couldn't pass up dropped into my lap. Being the magnanimous soul that I am, I'm going to give them away on Destructoid. The problem? I'm both too busy and too lazy to come up with a good contest idea.
So, here's the deal: I'm going to give one of the Dreamcasts to the person who comes up with what I consider to be the best contest idea. Then, that contest will be run to give away the second unit.
All you have to do to enter is come up with a contest that can be run here in the CBlogs. It can be anything you like. You might want to keep in mind the kinds of contests I like to run by checking out the other ones I've done (
here and
here) and also keep in mind that the contest probably shouldn't run more than a week or two since you all have depressingly short attention spans.
The prize is the console with audio/video and power cables only. I have no controllers.
You have until I post the CBlog Recap on Monday, June 23rd to enter by posting a comment in this blog (or in one of the reminder posts to come later this week). Enter as often as you like, since only the best entry will be accepted. Oh, and US residents only, unless you don't mind chipping in for some shipping (International is a bit rich for my blood these days, I'm afraid).
Good Luck!
lol i'm unoriginal.
Nintendo is usually the company people think about when we think about innovation in gaming, and usually for good reason. But personally, I don't think anything Nintendo has come up with has as much innovation as the Dreamcast did when it was first released. The Dreamcast pretty much standardized everything that we demand in gaming today. The actual contest should be a blog about what the blogger thinks is the most important thing the Dreamcast gave us.
It has to be something that either all of our current-gen consoles have, or at least two out of the three, i.e. online play, web browsing, downloadable content, etc. Help us realize why the Dreamcast is the greatest console that we've ever gotten (well, in my opinion, anyway).
I know I'd love to win one of the two that you got your hands on --- I sold mine a while back, and I've never regretted getting rid of something video game-related more since I started playing games 20 years ago.
:)
Also, I already entered. I'm pumped, hope you liked my idea (and if you didn't, I hope I can appease the contest you select, and if not then at least this was fun!)
ex. a holder for your AOL demo disc.
They do not have to simply bake a cake that looks like a Dreamcast. They can get creative and bake a cake with a theme of their favorite dreamcast game or accessory. Creativity here is the key.
Below is an example of a cake that could submitted for this contest.
