There weren't a ton of entries. I think some people might have been scared off by the competition. Still, I got some neat photoshop jobs and a truly revolting fapfiction from TheBez.

The winner, however, should be obvious to everyone. Haxan's noir tale of passion, betrayal and awesome is the clear victor. He even included some sweet sketches with each part! You can read all five parts of his story here: 1,2,3,4,5.

Totally awesome job, Haxan! PM me to arrange for the shipping of your new (to you) Dreamcast.

Wow! What an awesome event to wake up to!

Thanks for the kind words, everybody. I'd been sitting on the idea for a few days, and happened to have a bit of free time on Friday morning. I also thought that it would be a good opportunity to put the scanner that my gf got me for my birthday to some use.

Once I started writing/drawing it I wouldn't let myself get up until it was finished, because I knew I wouldn't finish it ever otherwise. Even then I almost didn't post it, because I was worried about the reception. I'm so glad now that I stuck with it!

So, short story long, thanks again! I'm glad everybody enjoyed it! (And congrats again on your black-and-white awatar status, Conrad!)

about me

I write for Destructoid, primarily reviews and recurring columns. I'm probably best known for RetRose Tinted, a series which I began in the Community Blogs and ran for six months before joining the site staff and taking it to the front page. I also contribute to An RPG Draws Near and the recently minted Sexy Time! column as well as serve up a weekly collection of the best deals on games (and completely gratuitous photos of women) in Discountoid.

I'm fond of all types of gaming, either on a screen or a tabletop. In terms of video games, my interests vary wildly from platformers (2D preferred) to RPGs and the occasional FPS. The greatest game of all time is Mega Man 2 and any suggestion otherwise will be met with swift vengeance.
