About Me
I am the News Editor at Destructoid. I write about videogames for a living. That last sentence is as awesome as it sounds, though not always in the ways you might think.

I also play host to Destructoid's live streaming satellite studio, Couchtoid. From there, we broadcast Backlog, an attempt to work through my stack of old games one hour at a time (Weeknights, 10pm Pacific) and Saturday Morning Hangover where Dtoid writer Jordan Devore and the always lovely ImpossiblePlant play often painful games for your amusement (Saturdays, 10am Pacific).

I'm fond of all types of gaming, either on a screen or a tabletop. In terms of video games, my interests vary wildly from platformers (2D preferred) to RPGs and the occasional FPS. The greatest game of all time is Mega Man 2 and any suggestion otherwise will be met with swift vengeance.

About Rodney Dangerfield:

The mere inclusion of Rodney Dangerfield can vastly improve anything. Films, music, toasters, anything. In particular, the force of Rodney Dangerfield could elevate video games to the level in which they are accepted by the mainstream as a true art form, bringing together people of all races, creeds and tax brackets in peace and harmony.

RIP Rodney.

Arkanoid Video Proves Once Again That Japanese Culture Terrifies Me
Conrad Zimmerman | 1:11 AM on 06.27.2008 19 comments

Might be old, but it was new to me. This is probably the most bizarre version of Arkanoid I've ever seen. And, yet, I almost wish we had game/variety shows like this in the US.

Japanese weirdness has no effect on me anymore....however, seing that you played Yaris (it's on your GamerTag), makes me seriously disappointed in you.

@Braulio09: Yeah, it's weird. Every time I feel the urge to hate the world, I play Yaris for about five minutes and it allows me to focus my hatred in a specific direction: Backbone Entertainment.

Ah, blackface. You're still socially relevant and completely acceptable in some countries. Sigh.

@Brahms
are you for cereal? his face (and clothes) were blacked out so they weren't so visible against the background so as to make his painted lips look like the ball in the game. Jesus.

On topic though, the Japanese seem to come up with the most bizarre game shows ever, is Family Fortunes just too 'mainstream' for them or something?

They asked the girl, "what kind of person is he?"

"A person who likes marshmallows."

"Yes, but what kind of oji-san (older person)?"

"Just a normal oji-san."
