Welcome to Commentoid, home of Comments of the Week!
Commentoid is where we take the full range of comments; the ones that make you think, the ones that make you laugh and the ones that make you cry (but also laugh), and compounds them into an entertaining package for the viewing pleasure of you, the Destructoid community.
We do take requests from time to time but be forewarned that messages about insightful commentary, brilliant wit or heartbreaking failure are much more likely to get checked if you send them to the correctly listed officiator for that week.
The combined group of commentive officiators (That lay down the weekly sermon of commentacular commentitude within a relay system of commentatoratiativenessisation!):
We try to go live Wednesday - Friday just to leave some room in everyone's schedules and make sure that there's enough time to post. If a post doesn't go up on Wednesday then don't worry as we're probably not dead.
VVVVVV shouldn’t be this fun but it is. Anthony was right: This >>>>>> Twilight Princess
Okay so I’m back and ready to Commentoid! Apologies for the absence but now I’ve got more time (or less to do) we can go comment recapping proper! Exclamation mark! Exclamation mark!
While reading this thread I actually didn’t have a problem with what palpablepalpatine said because he raised a decent point. Not one I’d fully agree with but not one that deserved so much rage over. But I have to agree that using metacritic as a basis for your argument is a load of crap.
• When your score is the highest: You’re wrong! because you liked it too much.
• When your score is the lowest: You’re wrong! because you hated it too much.
• When your score is close to the highest: You’re wrong! because you didn’t hate it as much as the majority.
• When your score is close to the lowest: You’re wrong! because you didn’t like it as much as the majority.
• When your score is in the middle: You’re wrong! because you didn’t like/hate it as much as everyone else.
When someone pulls the metacritic card they will somehow twist the information there to somehow prove that they are right and you are wrong because metacritic has lots of high and low numbers and is therefore fact.
Yeah I actually would have liked to have seen an actual interview with the guy. I’m not going to say that Jon shouldn’t have done what he did but someone should have posted and made an actual interview as well either before or after the joke one. We get interviews with random producers from games no one’s even heard of yet but we can’t get one with the mind behind Tetris?
Did I mention this comment was awesome enough times yet? Because GohanGVO is officially one of my favourite people right now. I don’t have a friend’s list on Dtoid simply because I’m weird like that but he would definitely be on it.
Have you ever had a comment just make you go “wut?” because this one just made me do that. It wasn’t because of the stupidity of what was said or anything it was just the randomness of it. Look at the comment in context and it’s still pretty stupefying.
As someone who has recently watched the entirety of Welcome to the NHK (WATCH IT DAMMIT! IT’S GLORIO) I can sympathise with sofik’s ability to see conspiracies out of nowhere. Next he must become a hikkiomori, find a teenage girl, fall in love with her, un-fall in love with her and get a Godamn job whilst doing all of it to an awesome soundtrack.
Remember kids: No one cares how much money you do or don’t have. It will never give you the right to brag about pirating. I love the next comment by this guy is an explanation that they don’t care about “Sony” or “Microsoft” showing that they have no idea where the money from buying games actually goes beyond publishers and console manufacturers.
