I don't see how he looks "much older" than Twilight Princess Link... looks the same.

And the girl looks like the same species Midna was.

Hmm... judging by Super Mario Galaxy 2... The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess 2 confirmed!
CommanderZim999's Destructoid Blog
Well, apparently the major thing is that Link doesn't have a sword. Miyamoto made sure to point that out in the IGN interview.
covah's Destructoid Blog
Yeah I noticed that.

what the fuuuuuuuuuuck!? Um... okay Miyamoto... weird.
ZServ's Destructoid Blog
if they pull "Zelda; link the swordless moron" im done with the series
Solgrim's Destructoid Blog
Link with no sword? Interesting.
Ub3rSlug's Destructoid Blog
That girl /is/ the master sword. Just sayin'.
ThunderHeartXI's Destructoid Blog
Very curious poster... A Midna like girl and Link with no sword? I wonder where they're going with this title.
gatorsax2010's Destructoid Blog
She looks kind of Zora-ish. And it's funny, they're talking about making this a Motion Plus exclusive, and there's no sword in the concept art? I'm intrigued.
Scary Womanizing Pig Mask's Destructoid Blog
Ehh, looks better then Twilight Princess, but I never really dug adult link. Wind Waker is where it's at for me :)
Tubatic's Destructoid Blog
Master sword manifests as a person...trippy.

I think Link having to rely mostly on his sheild could by completely fascinating. Maybe even fun, too!
Klempky's Destructoid Blog
I don't really know where the Midna comments are coming from, I'm seeing nothin' but a grown-up Fairy Queen from Wind Waker, at least in the face.
Klempky's Destructoid Blog
Also, am I the only one that's kind of pissed off that Link is gonna be left-handed from here on out?
Klempky's Destructoid Blog
Right-handed, rather. Apologies for the triple-post. x:
enigma343's Destructoid Blog
I don't think the other creature is a Twili... it is more reminiscent of the little Goddess' statues from Wind Waker. This probably means its in some way a tribute to that mythology, but I'm going to conclude that she is indeed the Master Sword in some transformed state. Hopefully this will translate into something interesting in gameplay, but then again they may be taking away GC controller functionality completely and embracing the Wiimote, which would be unfortunate.

As to which Link this is, I think it's safe to assume it is the Twilight Princess version. We won't know for sure until we see the design on his shield, which usually denotes which era each Link is from.

And to those bemoaning a direct sequel: remember Majora's Mask! I don't think there's ever been a sequel as incredible as that one, so if that trend continues we may be looking forward to a very twisted and satisfying game. Or a hunk of crap.
garison's Destructoid Blog
Looks really beautiful, I was sure this was going to pop up sooner or later!

I'm just glad that we now have SOMETHING tangible to tell us that a next Zelda game actually exists.
enigma343's Destructoid Blog
@Klempy:

Ah! I knew it was WW in origin! Spot on, I knew she looked familiar.

This seems to be a day for double posting... I hope no one minds.
Monodi's Destructoid Blog
I hope this is Twilight Princess's Majora's Mask if you know what I mean.
gatorsax2010's Destructoid Blog
@Klempky

You're right! It looked familiar, thanks for placing it for me.

Now I'm very intrigued... This could go in a lot of directions, very interesting! I have a feeling that after the mixed response to TP, they'll twist the formula in some way. They've had great success with that before, so I'm optimistic.
Mirax's Destructoid Blog
I also think that it's the Master Sword, manifested as this... woman, I guess.

I expect some interesting puzzles!
TheToiletDuck's Destructoid Blog
He doesn't have a sword? Meaning... he gets given it in the first 5 mins of gameplay? :P
Mirax's Destructoid Blog

(Ignore the fact that I couldn't find a decente Master Sword picture and that I did this in five seconds)

Looks similar to me!
10BobMarleys's Destructoid Blog
No sword....wait a minute. Let me process. Zelda + no sword = ..... FUCK YOU, MIYAMOTO, WTF MAN!?
blindfolded's Destructoid Blog
Anyone else notice how much that Link is drawn in the style of Ocarina of Time Link? Check out the blond hair and earring. And yet, we've got the Great Fairy from Wind Waker. Hmm...
Justice's Destructoid Blog
I'm pretty sure she's the sword too.
Justice's Destructoid Blog
BTW is that Ganons side profile of his face on the left edge?
Justice's Destructoid Blog
Also good eye Klempky. Anyway, if we have Link from Ocarina of Time and the Fairy Queen from Wind Waker, that doesn't follow continuity, since Twilight Princess is meant to be around 100 years after Majora's Mask, and Wind Waker is meant to be somewhere way after that.

With that said I think Link from OoT and MM grows up again (remember he's a kid in MM) into Adult Link, and he then has to go into the future to save it as well as the past where he is from. Plus he'll have the Ocarina of Time so time travel is not out of the question at all.
gatorsax2010's Destructoid Blog
@Justice

That's true, but there's no reason a fairy couldn't look like that in Ocarina's time frame, either. It would be yet another link (ho ho) between the OoT and WW. I don't know if there will be going into the future, but that would be pretty cool. I love all the speculation going on from just this picture!

Also, are all the people complaining about the apparent lack of sword in one picture also the ones who complain about the formula getting stale? Have a little faith, people, at least wait until this game is officially revealed to jump on the hate train! The Master Sword is an important part of the mythos, it won't just vanish for no reason.
DanlHaas's Destructoid Blog
@Justice

Good eye! That's definitely a face on the left side, but I wouldn't say it's necessarily Ganon's. It's pretty nondescript.
As for the girl, my first thought was the fairy queen from Wind Waker, but the Master Sword thing makes a lot of sense. I'm sort of doubting any direct connection to the WW fairy queen, though; it seems more likely that she is just a similar type of being.
@Mirax, I think you didn't need to flip the picture. I think her legs are designed to be the hilt, and above the waist is supposed to be the blade. The design of her 'tights' seems to resemble the weave on the sword's grip. She seems to be hiding any kind of recognizable Triforce symbol, though, probably to keep it from being too obvious what she is.
Phoenix Gamma's Destructoid Blog
I guess the real question is if Link and the Master Sword are gonna fuck.

Link x Master Sword = my OTP
welkstar's Destructoid Blog
I was afraid we wouldn't get to see this art for months, God bless the internet. :)

I'm not seeing "Ganon's" face on the left edge though...
covah's Destructoid Blog
Apparently the whole internet thinks that the girl is the living embodiment of the master sword, in which case that will be VERY interesting to see how it plays out.

And this is completely off topic, I went an ending to a pre Wind Waker zelda just to end with a big ass storm after a sort of somber ending. Then everyone can be all "ooooooh" (assuming that storm started the flood)

Thats honestly how I thought twilight princess was going to end mid way through playing, just because it was a bit darker than any other zelda, so I didn't put it off as impossible.
Daxelman's Destructoid Blog
That Klempky kid, he's going places.
