I have a really cool life. Case in point: last night, I recorded RetroforceGo!, which was comprised of Topher, Stella and myself talking about Japanese rhythm games for two hours. Niero heard the majority of my end of the conversation and was inspired (as was I when I was done -- I wanted to play every game we had talked about!) When I signed off, there were stacks of rhythm games on the coffeetable. Unfortunately, we didn't get past the first one we played (to be continued tonight!), but it was worth it, because I discovered a totally awesome PS2 game I had never played before.
That game is Technictix, which you can see in action here. It's very simply: you move your character around on a board, stand in the middle of a ring, and push a button when the inner ring meets the outer ring in time with the music. PURE ADDICTION. We played until 4 am. I'm wiped today but it was totally worth it. It was in Japanese and English, with the menus mainly in the latter so it is very easy to navigate. Each time you complete a level successfully, you unlock a new character to play.
Track it down if you like rhythm games, it was totally fun. I'm going back to sleep now =p read more

Why? Because the dude sends tips to both Dtoid AND Tomopop regularly, making our jobs easier and keeping the news constantly flowing so that you can read it as soon as its announced. The guy is a lifesaver, not to mention one of the nicest people I've ever met in person.

<p>While I was wandering idly about the office today I looked up at the big bookshelf near my desk and realized that since I don't face it (my desk faces the opposite direction), it's taken me until now to realize I have a lot of Chocobo.In fact, counting Rio's wonderful hat, Stella's Chocobo gift, and the three Chocobo that Ian sent Niero and I as a gift last Christmas wouldn't be so bad. The issue is that I have maybe ten more Chocobo at home scattered in various locations about the house. This does not even include all the Chocobo art given to me and all the games made by Square about them (which I own all of). I asked the Bastardino puppies what they thought. They ignored me.I mean, is there even a point where one can say "I have too many Chocobo"? is that like saying I own too many videogames? (We all know there is no such thing.) I've been to Chad's house on many an occasion, and he seems to suffer from a similar dolphin affliction. I think maybe I need to seek medical help.</p> read more
I had a rocking time at PAX, as usual, but unfortunately I contracted Con SARS on day two and spent more time than I would have liked ferverishly tossing and turning in my hotel bed. I wanted to post here and let all of you know that it was a huge thrill to meet you, and know that shaking the hands of the people that make this community the amazing family that it is is a humbling experience in more ways than I am able to describe. Hay guys. I am making a schedule of arrival times and dates for Cancun and I need a favor, if you are attending, please reply and let me what time your flight arrives and what day if you don't come in Thursday (the majority of attendees arrive that day.) I went to the Huck Gee signing event party last night at Kid Robot Miami, and look what I snagged! Toy collector or not, I know ninjas set many a heart aflutter, so I thought I'd share with you guys that Tomopop is having our first contest and giving him away. The boys behind the scenes are working hard to make sure Tomopop looks it's best, but as you can see if you go to the page we still have some more work to do. I didn't want to be late on the launch date for everyone who has been waiting, but for now comments are disabled. They should be good to go after this weekend.
