If any of you frequent Destructoid’s IRC channel, you’ve probably heard me bitching about how I found my Dreamcast to be broken when I suddenly got the urge to play Shenmue, one of my favorite games of all time.
It so happens that the disc spinning thingamajig wasn’t working properly and wasn’t allowing any games to move fast enough to actually start the game up, so I realized I had to buy a new system.
I jumped on Amazon and surprisingly found a Dreamcast console exclusively (no cords or anything) which is exactly what I needed. An easy $17.00 later, it was on its way to my doorstep…or so I thought.
This was all back in mid December and I had bought a new copy of Shenmue (I found my disc 1 had been cracked) and Shenmue 2 for the Xbox, getting ready for a fresh new arsenal of games ready to play. I waited and waited…and the package never came. I had found out it was sent through the Postal Service, and I’m not sure if you know this, but the Postal Service love the cock.
I get an e-mail from the guy who sent it to me who apparently belonged to a fairly large online distributor saying how they had got the package back that they had sent to me. This was in early January.
I’m making this blog way too long for any of your interest so let me wrap this up quick, I finally got my Dreamcast a couple days ago, more than a month after I had purchased it.
I played out some Jet Set Radio which was fucking awesome as always, and went back to play some Silent Scope (that old sniper arcade game) and I can still beat it with a total time of ten minutes. If I knew how, I would do a video of me doing a speed run sometime but I doubt I’ll ever get around to it.
Well bitches, if you’re still reading, I’m gonna go and play some Shenmue.
Goddamn I love my Dreamcast!
Now I need to get another one.
SAMBA! DIGAME! DUH DUH DUUUUUH DUH DA DA DA DUH!
also, i has good backups just ask! haha
i have two of them. the sega sports black one and the original. Skies of Arcadia, Shenmue, Seaman, Jet Set Radio, and Power Stone for the epic win.
oh and Sega Swirl too.
FUCK YEAH! We should all get dial-up collections and make a PSO guild. XD
Read my mind. >_>
Broadband adapters are out there. If you can find one that is
The picture you used is quite curious. It's got the orange swirl on the system but has the PAL region blue swirl on the controller.
i hope you're enjoying it.
