that sucks :\ , thanks for the headups.
And while I'm here .... Pretty much all Eidos games on PC are broken as hell. I bought Blood Money not too long ago on Steam because I preferred the PC version over the XBOX360 one and it didn't even worked.
I guess you're better off getting console versions for Eidos game they are not good for making PC ports...
90% of those bugs are actually anti-piracy measures that Eidos implemented for the PC version. The last two on your list are explicit in-game anti-piracy measures.
It really sucks if people complaining about anti-piracy features are impeding actual buyers ability to talk to customer service. You did buy it right? ;) It sucks bonus that they didn't take the time to do a proper console-to-pc port, and folk are stuck with horrible bugs. :(
What bluexy said.
Yes I bought it. The worst thing I would hope for all of this is to have to ship the game to them for a recall. Not only would I have to wait weeks but I've had bad experiences with these types of things. First I tried getting a new CD key for Battlefield 2142 so I sent the proof of purchase and a money order (they didn't accept checks) and never got a new CD key. Then when the Wii version of Guitar Hero III was recalled I never got a new copy.
@Bluexy ; That and piss poor programming. I've always had problems with Eidos games on PC as long as I can recall ; remember that Final Fantasy VII port? I'm still trying to forget it.
But we have to protect our shit from pirates by implementing all this secure shit for our honest customers.
Oh dear lord, they forgot to take out their 'anti-piracy' measures...
Well, you know who's managed to fix many of those issues... the pirates.
You own the game, so technically you can torrent it legally.
Damn - thanks for the heads up.
That's a serious big balls-up on Eidos' part, someone's gonna get the sack for this.
You bought the actual CD, right? Not off Steam? I wonder if there's a difference...
And pirates are playing without a problem.
I don't even see why these guys bother with Anti-Piracy these days.
If Pirates want to play a game, all it takes is one person to crack it.
Too late, its already on its way. GOD DAMN EIDOS CORP!
Push L2 to go into detective mode, a flashing yellow icon will appear. That is the REAL install file.
It works fine off Steam. Mabye you should try that.
@Kraid
OH GOD THE FFVII PORT! Makes me glad I already had it on PSX.
@Magnalon
What was always strange was that the PC version could only go up to 640x480 resolution and while that's still nearly double the resolution of the PSX version the emulated version could run at whatever resolution you want.
The PC version did have one advantage over the PSX one: Yamaha Audio drivers which really added some flare to FF7's music.
Side by side comparison:

Of course the Eidos PC version was loaded with installation difficulties including not recognizing the installation CD.
another reason i don't play pc games
@Yehat
Yeah, I was one of those that was plagued with installation issues. I got FF7 PC for Christmas and my families PC should have been able to run it just fine but the install never worked. Fuck Eidos' PC ports.
i'm getting this for free on the 17th in that nvidia promotion so i'll be getting this no matter what.
to be honest i was kind of expecting this after that embarrassingly ironic article posted here on Dtoid in which AA was praised for having good DRM, when it was securom all along.
no matter though, i'll just use the cracks that the pirate community has cooked up to fix this shambles.
God, I fucking hate dealing with pc games.
Dno m8, works just fine for me.
Had a graphical glitch once that forced me to close the game, but other than that, it's all good.
Thanks for the headsup. I was actually planning on buying it later, but I think I'll wait the bugs out.
