OK, hmmmmm, where do I start? I guess I should start at the beginning of my gaming life. I'm talking summers spent in Clacton arcades wasting 10p's on Championship Sprint, Double Dragon and Turtles. I'm on about California Games, Daley Thompson and Winter Olympics... Aaaaaah, the C64 days, when I was but 5 or 6 years old, seemed the sunniest. I swear it was either bright sunshine soaked summer or just plain snow in those heady times.
Nowadays, like the weather, gaming has gotten complex... So much choice and so little cash.
In a house with many consoles and far too much gaming testosterone, I devote most play time to my PS3. I don't have a preference for game type, although I'd say FPS's float my boat the most and RPGs haven't grabbed me by the balls once, yet.

OK people, I realise that there have been some meet-ups here and there on various occasions but A) I have never been to one, 2) they don't seem to have been planned enough in advance for EVERYBODY to get their sorry arses down and D) they don't seem to have involved clay pigeon shooting. OK, forget the pigeons and their clay. I'm talking about doing this thing the way the yanks seem to manage time and again. Everywhere I look on this site I see happy faces wearing Threadless t-shirts posing for photos that they know are gonna appear on Destructoid. You can see it in their eyes... The fear of not looking like they belong, the fear that somewhere someone is saying "Fuckin' 'ell, I didn't think Takeshi was a complete hooligan". Yes, he's dutch and that statement does not apply to him, but by god is the man someone on here that I feel like I can be comfortable enough with to slag off - I haven't met him but this site is like a breeding ground for love. As long as you treat it right. I have no idea what form this is going to take and where it will be but let's make a weekend of it. Let's do the whole shebbang and walk away with a stiff neck and a lump in our throats. Summer time is when I think it could be most feasible. Paintball? A dirty weekend in some scabby and quiet town with more grannies than apples? A one-off 100-metre sprint, after which we never speak again? A day in a bakery making bread and carrot cake??

Don't pretend you don't know why the Helghast, who happen to be made in Amsterdam, have the biggest case of red-eye you've ever seen. It's like a reference to marijuana and the red light district. If I was over there I'd look like that all fucking day. I wouldn't really, I've given up the smoke for 2000000009 and my woman gives me no reason to even look into the smeared window of some seedy dreamland. Who's with me? I'm normal really, but I am becoming itchy with the thought of meeting, drinking and getting my arse kicked at everything* *not fifa Love to all.

I resent that! I may have lived in London for the last 4 years but I am a born and bred Sheep shagging Welshman! Funnily enough I'm from Newport to. Also Pheonix Blood is a fellow Welsh person.
I'm definitely up for whatever sexual encounters are going down :-) McSnow mentioned a while ago that he might be hosting a NARP in London towards the end of January/beginning of February but I dunno if that's still going ahead...
Also there are about 5 of us who could form Dtoid London if you want an excuse to meet up, get drunk, play games, have buttsecks and practice interpretive dance on a smaller scale.
Anus, what is this Gamerbase, eh?? Dangale has a point here.
Gamerbase is a cool LAN center that has some pretty beefy rigs and pretty much every PC game you could ever want to play hooked up, even Quake 3 and Duke Nukem if I remember correctly. It's next to the hmv inside the trocadero by Piccadilly Circus. It's not free though and I think the basic rate is something like £4 for 2 hours, which isn't too bad when it's one quid for a go on one arcade machine.
I'm thinking of a little Dtoid London session sometime :-D

I needed a wake up call and the wake up call is basically that most people seem to be based in and around London - most people in the world, in fact.
In my head I originally envisaged meeting somewhere central in the country and would still one day like that to happen. For now, however, financial viability is very important and if London is the most accessible place to the most people then it will have to be favourite for the destination.
Gamerbase sounds suitably epic but I myself am not a PC gamer and so don't know how I really feel about it. I would definitely give it a go though. I just think this NARP should give us the opportunity to act likes doofus's, get merry, tell eachother stories about biscuits dissolving into our tea and do lots of dancing.
Atheistium, please big it up on the Podcastle... I heard you mention it the other day actually, which is one of the main reasons I really thought about writing a blog. It has to happen, we need some Youtube classics and confusing photos!!!!

I maybe Welsh but my vote for the NARP goes to the great city of LDN (the north of it to be precise). Gamerbase is a cool place to hang out and spend an afternoon and this is coming from someone who isn't really much of a PC gamer.
Hmmm, will have to be in the summer when people can maybe afford it!
