My Hardcoreness? Gee, isn't that mighty personal? Just kidding. I grew up with just a NES as my only console (and primary plaything) until about 14. I never really got to go to arcades very often, but loved the simple short addictive nature most of them had. I also love the fact that the old school style is making a return to game design as of late!! Generally, I just have the heart of a hardcore gamer in the body and lifestyle of someone with not nearly enough free time on their hands.
Fanboy class? Whoa, Nobody told me that I had to take a class.. I'm simply an equal opportunity gamer and I attempt to snag all the shiny games I like and all the hardware I want, and I play them and they make me UN-Bored. Isn't that the point of games, anyway?
Crap I own? A just-completed monster gaming rig PC; (can play oblivion on almost-max with NO slowdown, on max with a FEW stutters) PS2, Wii, GBASP(superbright model) PSP, DSFat. I also Illegally emulate a ton of arcade Roms and old console games, but only until someone releases a compilation disc or somesuch for me to PAY for them LEGALLY. (Capcom, I'm looking at you. Remember the D&D rpg/brawlers? Yeah, I'm talking to YOU, programmers of AVP the arcade game..) I generally upgrade as things progress, so I have thousands of games in digitally archived form, and hundreds in ACTUAL form.
Other stuff: Well, gaming is my primary time-waster of choice, OBVIOUSLY. I'e followed the industry since I was able to read, or at least since I heard the words "Nintendo Power", and Have suffered much pressure to become an industry analyst or insider, programmer, blah blah.. But I ignore such prods. Why? It just doesn't DRIVE me. It's not what I do for a living. (Not anymore, anywaqy.) Some agrue that if you enjoy your job enough, you don't work a day in your life. I say that for some, if you turn your pastime into your job, what the HELL do you do on your time off?
And i'll leave my self-righteousness at that.
