I love the Sega Genesis, I never owned one as a kid but always wanted one. If you read my previous blog you would see I just recently picked up a Genesis and a nice haul of games still in their boxes with manuals at my local good will. Well today I decided to drop into Ed Mckays (local used everything store) and another treasure trove of Genesis games awaited me!

First up we have all 3 Phantasy Star's released for the Genesis still in the boxes with manuals. all for about $8 each.

I figured that's all I'm buying don't see anything else worth owning. Then I happen to glance down at the bottom of the shelf and see these...

I almost shit my pants, ROCKET KNIGHT FUCKING ADVENTURES AND GHOULS 'N GHOSTS!!!!!! The fond memory I have of these 2 games is immense, I've beaten RKA more times than I can count but its one of the best games ever made. I've never beaten Ghouls 'N Ghosts unfortunately that game is for masochists, but it still doesn't change that fact that its damn fun. RKA was priced at a reasonable $8 and GNG was $6.

Oh and where the fuck can I have these!?

Damn you year 2009, where is my time machine so I can go back to 1993 and fill out this mail order form and get me some Sparkster swag.

All of those are incredible finds. Good luck wiht Rocket Knight Adventure, that's one deceptively tough cookie.

Rocket Knight is one of the very few games from that era I have never played, but always wanted too, I hear it's great. I must confess I never loved the genesis controller as much as the Nes and SuperNes, how has it held up?

Thankfully the genesis I bought came with a one of those awesome 6 button controllers that look more like the saturn controllers. They are much more comfortable than the giant 3 button ones.
