About

What's it like to be me? Imagine a thousand people throwing a party inside of your head, and you're stuck outside without a ticket.

I guess I'm more "collector" than gamer these days. Sure I still play my 360/Wii/DS/3DS and so on, and I love them all, but I just don't have the free time to play them like I used to.

I started my gaming life on an old Atari 2600 that my dad bought us for Christmas. I used to frequent the local arcade (early 80's) and I have a passion for anything pinball.

You may not know this but I also help run the Xbox 360 FNF side of business on Dtoid. You can always host or find games to play here: Friday Night Fights Forum Thread

As of this update (1.09.2012) I currently have:

33 Consoles
47 Handhelds
1562 physical copies of various games
155 digital copies of games
Tons of other video game related items

I'm also a huge comic book nerd, here are some of my all-time favorites, in no particular order:

Cerberus the Aardvark

Groo the Wanderer

Howard the Duck

Usagi Yojimbo

BatMan

I also love music, all types really. If I had to pick a favorite album of all time I would have to go with:

The Cure: Disintegration. This album is perfect, from beginning to end.

My daughter is also a gamer of sorts, here she is lavishing in all of her Nintendo plushies:

Oh yea, did I mention that I love Pinball more than any other game ever? Because I totally do.

I also like to doodle when I'm bored, as seen below

I drew that when I was bored.

Sometimes, when I'm not gaming or collecting I'll post blogs, here are a couple recent ones:

Good evening everyone. How are you? How was your trip to PAX? Get lots of swag and cool stuff?

Me? No, not me, I didn't make PAX this year, instead me and the fam took a trip down to Orlando Florida for some fun and sun (and just a smidge of collecting).

The trip was great; we got to see some old friends, had a bar-b-que and took the kid to Disney for the first time. Oh, I also bought some gaming shit......

Before we get to the Florida haul I'll start off with the stuff I managed to snag before we left:

Here we have some of the Taco Bell kid's meal toys:

These are actually pretty sweet, each CD contains a classic Atari 2600 game in it's full whatever-bit glory. The games are: Asteroids, Centipede, Lunar Lander and Super Breakout.

Next up: Random Video Game related Candy tins!

Question Mark Blocks and the Super Star from the Mario games

Blinky and Blue Blinky

Got this next lil fella through a Goodwill auction:

Resident Evil: Gaiden for the GameBoy Color

Got this one at Cash Converters:

ICO! Not a bad find for $4.99

This next piece is pretty neat:
Sega Genesis Outrun 2019 Plug & Play. The big red looking thing is the steering wheel controller.

I was really excited when I found this:

Official EVE Syringe from the Bioshock games. When you push the plunger down it glows an eerie blue.

Speaking of Blue:

My co-worker and I were talking about how good this flick was so I decided to buy it.

Now before I get to the Florida stuff I have one last item:

God of War III Ultimate Edition. I'm a bit disappointed in the box because it seems kinda cheesy feeling and I was really disappointed when I found out that most of the swag you get is all downloadable crap. Oh well, the game itself rocks.

Ok, finally, on to the Florida Haul!

First let me start by showing an obligatory picture of Florida:

Downtown Orlando from 400 feet in the air. We took a tethered Hot Air Balloon ride while at Downtown Disney.

The first item I managed to sneak in to the collection while in Florida:

My new PSP 3000! The more I play Sony products the more I love them.

And what handheld would be complete without something to play?

I lucked out on the games. We decided to visit the Oviedo Marketplace while in Orlando and the F.Y.E store was going out of business. On the night we went they had a sign up that said "Only 3 days left!" That was good enough for me because each game I managed to snag was 70% off the sticker price, meaning the most I paid for any of these was $9.99.

I know this has nothing to do with games but it's an awesome pic nonetheless:

My kid (in the Minnie shirt) and her cousin in front of the Princess Castle at Disney.

This was definitely a great trip, I managed to get a new handheld and a bunch of games to play, but the fun isn't over yet....when we finally got back to Chicago we did some more shopping...

What's this? Another handheld?

Sure is! So it seems that the Sony store might not be doing so well because the one in my mall is now out of business, and what happens when a store closes? SALES!!!! I managed to grab this PSPGO new for $75.00 off the regular price.

The next day I took a trip to Best Buy to get a couple of cases for my new PSP's...

Guess who was there?

NINTENDO!

Yep, a Nintendo rep was on site showing off the new DSi XL and guess what? He talked me in to picking one up......

No. No it wasn't the Nintendo rep that talked me in to buying the new DSi XL I can't lie...it was my awesome girlfriend, who ALSO makes sure that when I buy something the box it comes in is PERFECT. She's the best. Oh and here it is by the way:

And here are the cases for the new handhelds:

Ok..we're almost to the end of the ride.

Of course being gone for a week means that the mail starts to pile up:

My "never will be used" Wii Netflix disk

and

My Neat promotion swag that was sent my way for buying Darksiders.

I also managed to find the following at my local used CD shop:

Prinny. Can I really be the hero? This game is awesome by the way.

Sega Saturn! WOOOOT! The console collection is now almost complete!

Well, that's it I guess. I want to thank my awesome girlfriend Michelle for her support and keen collecting eye, without her my collection would probably suck...a lot.

Happy Hunting as always and good night!

Dat Sega Saturn is sexy!

Great stuff all around
Kraid pretty much nailed it. Nice find on the Saturn.
Balls! Those Taco Bell (goddamn food of kings!) games are sweet! I don't know whether to be jealous or not about the Resident Evil: Gaiden! Sweet, rare game, but the condition of your's is only "okay" at best in my books . . . =S Hahaha! Also, SEE? Cash Converters = God of stores! $5 ICO! Can't beat that! Where the hell can you order those EVE Hypos? Plus, as we've said on KRYPTINITE's unboxing, goddamn that God of War III - Ultimate Edition was a letdown.

Where's the picture of YOU in front of the Disney Princess Castle? =P Don't tell me you weren't dying to get in front of that thing! Also, what the hell is with all the stores going out of business and the mega discounts? o_O Plus, don't go to Best Buy, that place is gay . . . I use to work at one. >_< The fact that you got the box for the Saturn is pretty bitchin' dude. I'm pretty jealous about that. Glad to hear you had a good time and all. I'm like backlogged at LEAST 3 "Haul" blogs, but with school and the preview I have to do for Two Worlds II, here's HOPING I can get at least one up for next week. Keep at it mate! ^_^
Some nice hauls here, son. Why the fuck are your good will stores so much better than any other I have ever, ever been to?
@Funktastic: What is this Cash Converters you speak of? It's like a good will only.....better? This cannot be.
@Funk: So how was PAX? Score any good swag? Yea, i'm a bit let down by the condition of that RE:Gaiden but for what I paid for it I can't complain. The EVE Hypo was bought at my local F.Y.E. You can probably buy one from their site, if not I'll see if I can snag you one while i'm out and about.

I would have stood in front of the castle by the way but the misses and myself came down with a nasty flu and I was not feeling very photogenic. Last but not least the Saturn in the box. Pretty sweet huh, guy only wanted 30 bucks for it complete, couldn't pass that one up.

Can't wait to see your next haul!

@Wry Guy: I don't know why the Goodwill stores here are so good, the ones in Orlando were terrible.
