About

What's it like to be me? Imagine a thousand people throwing a party inside of your head, and you're stuck outside without a ticket.

I guess I'm more "collector" than gamer these days. Sure I still play my 360/Wii/DS/3DS and so on, and I love them all, but I just don't have the free time to play them like I used to.

I started my gaming life on an old Atari 2600 that my dad bought us for Christmas. I used to frequent the local arcade (early 80's) and I have a passion for anything pinball.

You may not know this but I also help run the Xbox 360 FNF side of business on Dtoid. You can always host or find games to play here: Friday Night Fights Forum Thread

As of this update (1.09.2012) I currently have:

33 Consoles
47 Handhelds
1562 physical copies of various games
155 digital copies of games
Tons of other video game related items

I'm also a huge comic book nerd, here are some of my all-time favorites, in no particular order:

Cerberus the Aardvark

Groo the Wanderer

Howard the Duck

Usagi Yojimbo

BatMan

I also love music, all types really. If I had to pick a favorite album of all time I would have to go with:

The Cure: Disintegration. This album is perfect, from beginning to end.

My daughter is also a gamer of sorts, here she is lavishing in all of her Nintendo plushies:

Oh yea, did I mention that I love Pinball more than any other game ever? Because I totally do.

I also like to doodle when I'm bored, as seen below

I drew that when I was bored.

Sometimes, when I'm not gaming or collecting I'll post blogs, here are a couple recent ones:

Well I guess it's about that time again. What time is that you ask? Why it's Haul Time!!!

This post is going to be DS heavy with a solid dose of Atlus. I've been having some serious good luck lately finding great deals. The F.Y.E store at one of our local malls here is liquidating all gaming stock to focus more on music and movies. Now this is great news to someone like me because when I hear or see the words Liquidation + Video Games my mouth starts to water.

Most of what you see below was purchased at the above mentioned F.Y.E for 50-75% off listed price.

On to the SHOW!!!

As always I will start with the older stuff first then work my way up to the more current items.

First up we have a pair of GameBoy Color Games:

WARIO LAND 3 & SUPER MARIO BROS. DELUXE Two classics that will be seeing plenty of game time while I'm on vacation.

Here we have yet another addition to my always growing GameBoy collection:

Purple GameBoy Color with Pelican Accessories. This marks my 8th GameBoy and I have no plans on stopping anytime soon. For the record all 8 of my GameBoys are different i.e. color, style make/model.

Moving on we have a couple of Playstation Greatest Hits games:

TETRIS PLUS & NAMCO MUSEUM VOLUME 1. Goodwill comes through again, I know that these two games aren't the most sought after games but for .99 cents you can't go wrong.

These next items are pretty neat. Nintendo announced this past E3 that the new Nintendo 3DS will be capable of playing full length movies. Obviously this is great news but this is not Nintendo's first foray in to the video on the go arena:

I present to you the GameBoy Advance Video!!. Each cartridge contained 44 minutes of video in compressed format. The quality wasn't exactly the best but for the time it really wasn't that bad. I stumbled upon these while browsing through Ebay. I managed to get all 8 for a package deal which included free shipping. Not a bad find at all if you ask me.

Since we're talking about the GBA:

MARIO KART SUPER CIRCUIT. This is yet another game that will be seeing lots of game time in the upcoming weeks.

Moving away from the handheld market for a bit, but not from Nintendo:

MARIO KART DOUBLE DASH. My family and I have been playing the hell out of this game lately, it's basically the same as the Wii version of Mario Kart except with Double Dash each Kart has two players, one to drive and one to throw items. If you're a fan of Mario Kart and haven't played this one then you owe it to yourself to go pick it up.

I found this next gem at my local Cash Converters for a whopping 3 bucks!

MEGA MAN ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION. I haven't played this yet but I will soon (one we stop playing Mario Kart). Honestly, for three dollars how could you NOT pick this up?!

Oh and speaking of three dollars:

FIRE EMBLEM: PATH OF RADIANCE. Also found at Cash Converters.

Ok, finally it's time to show off some of the great finds that I managed to snag at that F.Y.E I mentioned earlier:

AEDIS ECLIPSE: GENERATION OF CHAOS. Three bucks after discount.

BURNOUT LEGENDS & LEGO STAR WARS II: THE ORIGINAL TRILOGY. Also three dollars each after discount.

VIEWTIFUL JOE:RED HOT RUMBLE. Four dollars after discount.

This next one was a Goodwill Auction find:

MVP BASEBALL, DUNGEON MAKER I & II AND CRASH (MOVIE). Won the auction for $5.00 bucks.

Here's another Goodwill Auction find:

METROID PRIME HUNTERS:FIRST HUNT DEMO. I was really surprised that nobody else bid on this but oh well, their loss. Nabbed it for $5.00 bucks.

Ok, back to the F.Y.E goodies!!!!

LUX-PAIN. $4.00 dollars after discount!

RAYMAN DS, CHI-BI ROBO PARK PATROL, MR. DRILLER AND SPACE INVADERS REVOLUTION. Rayman and Space Invaders were packaged together and after the discount cost a total of 8 dollars. Chibi Park Patrol was used and cost me four bucks and Mr. Driller was had for three dollars.

TEXAS HOLDEM POKER DS, DRAGON QUEST V, DRAGLADE & ONTAMARAMA. All four of these games were marked 75% off so each only cost me six dollars with the exception of Texas Hold'em which cost me three.

LEGEND OF THE UNEMPLYED NINJA: IZUNA, SUMMON NIGHT: TWIN AGE, MASTER OF THE MONSTER LAIR & TRAUMA CENTER: UNDER THE KNIFE 2. Once again each of these was six dollars with the exception of Trauma Center which was ten.

That was pretty much it for all of the F.Y.E deals and the haul list is almost over, but before we go:

Gamestop was running a buy 2 get 1 free deal a couple weeks back, here's what I managed to snag:

ADVANCE WARS: DAYS OF RUIN

TOUCH DETECTIVE 1 & 2. Gamestop had both Touch Detective games used for $5.00 bucks apiece, since it was buy 2 get 1 free Touch Detective 2 1/2 was free. Nice.

And for the final DS game:

TOKYO BEAT DOWN. No big deal on this one, just wanted it to help grow my Atlus collection.

As many of you may have heard Microsoft released a new Xbox 360 model and I just had to have it!

It's as quiet as you may have heard; I honestly cannot hear the thing running while sitting only a foot away.

And finally since I purchased a new 360 I thought I might as well pick up a couple of new games to play on it:

OPERATION DARKNESS & BLUR. I managed to snag Blur for $19.99 at Best Buy using the manufacturer's coupon on top of Best Buy's sale.

Well there you have it, another blog about a bunch of shit that will take me forever to actually sit down and enjoy.

I hope I haven't bored you too much and I look forward to seeing you all again soon!

Until then happy collecting and happy gaming!

~ChillyBilly.

What's this bullshit? I'M the freaking Atlus guy!!! =D Effing nice haul mate! ^_^ Pretty jealous at the price of the Lux-Pain, especially since it has the slipcover and artbook, but I'm HELLA jealous about the Dragon Quest V, since I still haven't picked it up, since I don't want to pay "full price" for it . . . >_< Jesus christ! $6 for that . . . -_-' Still, awesome Atlus stuff, although I'm a bit disappointed in you picking up the Slim 360 . . . =P Also, I'm hoping you haven't moved, since I'm FINALLY sending your box out this week! =3
Good haul, man. Looks like you picked up some fantastic stuff.
I picked up a factory-sealed Viewtiful Joe 2 at F.Y.E. myself recently.
Wow, the prices you got on that stuff are ridiculous. That new X360 looks pretty sweet - next time one of mine shits the bed, I'm definitely going to pick one up. Thanks for posting.
YES OPERATION DARKNESS!!!!
That is a lot of stuff!
*pirate voice* That's some great haulin' there matey!

Blogs like this really inspire me to push forward with my own collecting. Also, I, too just recently bought one of those black boxes of silent the other day. Gotta say I'm loving it.

Thanks for sharing!
Great haul. I really need to visit a cash converters one day.
@FUNK: Oh don't worry, I'm not even close to touching your Atlus collection and I won't be for quite some time! It was just so hard to pass up on all those games when they were all had for under ten bucks....NEW! And no worries, I haven't moved, still in the same place and can't wait!

@SMURFEE MCGEE: It seems like more and more F.Y.E's are doing away with their game sections which is great for collectors because they always mark their stuff down to awesome prices.

@KRAID: Damn right Operation Darkness!! Although I haven't played it yet but I will....oh yes I will...

@STEEZYXL: Your collection seems to be growing nicely based on your posts here in the C-Blogs, keep at it man it's a fun addiction to have.

@OCCAMS: My Cash Converters is hit or miss, it's nothing like Funk's but if you go enough and take your time while looking through their stock you may find some gems.
I would consider this more of a compendium than emporium. ChillyBilly's Compendium of Curious Collectibles. Nice finds.
Damn, that's a lotta games!
As long as you now have in your possession a shiny new 360, I have to recommend that you get yourself a copy of Tales of Vesperia. Without a doubt it is one of the finest RPGs to reach our shores.

Also you reminded me to check out F.Y.E. tomorrow while I am out, so cheers on that front.
