If you would have told me a couple years ago that Nintendo’s next big IP would be a shooter, I would have said you’re insane. Now, here we are. The full release of Splatoon is only a couple days away, and we’ve gotten several opportunities to go hands on with the game through the Global Testfires.
There are some concerns in the gaming community with the absence of some common shooter features like voice chat, but Nintendo is counting on the fun and frantic gameplay to win people over. Love them or hate them, Nintendo sets the standard in terms of game quality, but they are certainly out of their element in the online shooter arena. Can Splatoon join the ranks of Nintendo’s finest? Bloodborne is the newest title developed by From Software, the creators of the Dark Souls series. Dark Souls is known for its unyielding gameplay, and, at face value, Bloodborne looks a lot like Dark Souls. This begs the question, “Do you need to be a fan of the Dark Souls series to enjoy Bloodborne?”

This past week marked the HD release of the Resident Evil Remake. So, many people may be playing the game for the first time, or at least, the first time in a long time. The original Resident Evil games played a lot differently then many games you’ll find today, and the old-school survival horror elements may come as a shock to some players.
