Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Hands-on Impressions
Charles Sharam | 9:58 PM on 09.29.2009 3 comments

I played through the MGS Peace Walker TGS demo over the weekend and I've gotta say I'm impressed. This game has so much going on for it. A couple weird things, though:

- No crawling
- No shimmying along walls
- No pausing
- No dragging enemies (an alternative is presented)

What do you all think about the lack of crawling and whatnot? I've heard a lot of people whining, and I'm going to be a bit disappointed if this isn't in the final game myself, but is it really a huge deal?

Apart from that I'm digging the new control set-up, the graphics are simply awesome, and the comic-esque cutscenes are back, which I think is cool. Check out my full impressions if you'd like:

In conclusion... I love the Fulton System. <3

There's an alternative to dragging enemies?

Also, there's no pause because the game is built around multiplayer -- The same reason Phantasy Star Online didn't have a pause. It always assumes you'll be playing with other people.

I was happy with the demo, too. It took a long time to get used to the first control scheme, but it is a better one than Option B.
