Commercial Flashback: The Day Square Lost Their Minds

Last week's commercial flashback featured a fairly lengthy write-up. Conversely, this entry is going to be pointedly brief. Why is that? Because... well, just watch this video:

...what the fuck is that?! Upon revisiting this commercial I realize that there is nothing I can write about it that isn't already lingering in your mind. Are you disturbed? Frightened? Let me know what you think, because my mind is blank. One thing I'm 100% certain of is that this is the only time I've ever seen a game pitched to consumers via maniacal laughter and ostriches. Truly original.

So, is it a marketing mishap or do you want to rush back in time and purchase Final Fantasy IV simply because of how AWESOME this ad was?

Well then, that coca-cola commercial was pretty damn weird indeed. However, I still didn't find it as unsettling as, you know... the INSANE Japanese man laughing his ass off in the FFIV blurb.
