Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Hands-on Impressions
Charles Sharam | 9:58 PM on 09.29.2009 3 comments

I played through the MGS Peace Walker TGS demo over the weekend and I've gotta say I'm impressed. This game has so much going on for it. A couple weird things, though:

- No crawling
- No shimmying along walls
- No pausing
- No dragging enemies (an alternative is presented)

What do you all think about the lack of crawling and whatnot? I've heard a lot of people whining, and I'm going to be a bit disappointed if this isn't in the final game myself, but is it really a huge deal?

Apart from that I'm digging the new control set-up, the graphics are simply awesome, and the comic-esque cutscenes are back, which I think is cool. Check out my full impressions if you'd like:

In conclusion... I love the Fulton System. <3

Haha, this is great. We were about five rows from the front and there were so many "WHAT?! exclamations
rolling in all around us. What a WEIRD announcement.

My Video Review of GTA Chinatown Wars + Prepping for E3
Charles Sharam | 5:28 PM on 05.12.2009 2 comments

Hey there, everyone.

It's been a while since I've posted -- sorry about that. Expect a slew of commercial flashbacks and other goodies to appear on my blog in the coming weeks. Basically I've been tied down with work lately, and I'm in the thick of E3 preparations which doesn't help either. Hard to believe I'll be heading down to the show with my crew in just a few weeks. It'll be hella busy, but a great time nonetheless. Expect plenty of updates while I'm in LA.

Anyways, I'll sign off this post with my video review of GTA Chinatown Wars. Enjoy, and let me know what you think of the game. Oh, and BUY IT.

Commercial Flashback: Pokemon Is Better Than Tits, More Extreme Than Motocross
Charles Sharam | 2:31 AM on 12.05.2008 3 comments

This commercial presents you with a choice. Do you prefer a), b), or c)?

a) gorgeous women.
b) extreme motocross action, or
c) Pokemon Stadium 2

My personal breakdown of the alternatives is to follow. Here we go:

Option b) is the easiest to eliminate. If some pud-head blew through my window and started ripping circles across my clean, sparkling floors on his dirt bike, I'd tell him to get the fuck out. Likewise, a deliciously toned and oiled up beauty, voluptuous assets spilling out of her skimpy underwear, is a no-go for chaps like myself (being previously engaged and whatnot). I suppose that terminates option a) as well.

So, what does that leave me with? Pokemon Stadium 2. Well, I guess that's not so bad. I'm a big Pokemon fan after all (shh, don't tell anyone). I actually do own both the Stadium games for N64, and while they hardly make up for the lack traditional, handheld-style pocket monsters games on Nintendo consoles, they were a pleasant diversion back in the day. I remember linking up my copies of Silver and Gold to Stadium via the transfer pack so that I could "mystery gift" with the girl in that game. God help those who know what I'm talking about.

What about you? Is it all about the T&A, the moto-mania (yeah right), or cleaning house with your Pokemon team in full 3D? I'm sure this will be an easy choice for most.

Commercial Flashback: Nintendo Promotes Cross-dressing, Blackmail
Charles Sharam | 7:55 PM on 12.02.2008 5 comments

Yes, it's true:

Is your father secretly a transvestite? Does grampy enjoy cross-dressing when he thinks no one's home? More importantly, have you caught them going about their trans-genderal debauchery?

If so, then you hold the bargaining chips necessary to land one or two new video games without even dipping into your own wallet. The stratagem suggested by Nintendo's N64 marketing team: blackmail. Of course. Really, why buy games with your own money when you can immorally -- and illegally -- coerce someone else into making the purchase? Works like a charm according to the boys who play with power.

So, if you don't have the money stacks for a PS3, snap some naked pictures of your colleagues and threaten to post them at work. Or, if you're having trouble getting ahold of such elusive material, just photoshop their faces onto Ashlynn Brookes' body and have at it. Gets the job done just as well.

Remember: as with any crime, you can shift culpability over to the video game industry once the lawsuit rolls in. After all, Nintendo told you to do it. Right?
