I haven’t hidden my excitement for Disney’s upcoming hand-drawn 2D animated feature The Princess and the Frog. As anyone who knows me can tell you, I adore all Disney movies and am ecstatic that Disney (under the new leadership of my hero John Lasseter) decided to bring back the classic hand-drawn animated movies that made the mega-company famous in the first place. Choosing to also reunite the same animation/directing teams from the Little Mermaid/Beauty & the Beast/Aladdin trilogy of amazingness didn’t hurt either. So, just today the first five minutes of The Princess and the Frog was released on YouTube. Even though some of the footage is obviously still unfinished, I have to say I am excited. Really excited. The clip is so beautiful, so rich, so wonderfully nostalgic that I am going to have a lot of trouble waiting until the film’s December 11th release date to see the entire thing. Check out the opening sequence below: What do you think? Pretty gorgeous, huh? How nice is it to see a brand new, hand-drawn animated movie from Disney? And the hint of one of the songs sounds absolutely beautiful. I can’t wait to buy the soundtrack and listen to it over and over again in my Jeep until I get strange looks from people at stoplights. I actually got a little misty-eyed watching this clip. It made me feel like a kid again. I am so happy right now.

I have been doing new ones for the last ten weeks! :)
Hmm, how'd I miss that? Good 2 know, I tried to check out 69 (heh) but I got some "you're not an editor" bs message. And if you feel like it, check out my rant on how Tetris Attack still isn't on the VC, I know that game makes you wet.
I read it! And I agree! Best game EVER! Exclamation points! :)
That's so odd about the random message. I hope you can read 'em now. :)
Nice, that pretty much made my day. And memory card seems to be working for me now, can't wait to get down with it on my lunch break.
Oh my gosh, I am totally with you. I almost didn't watch it (or share it). It doesn't reveal too much at all, though. It is a nice tease.
But I don't blame you. I would hate to ruin the experience of this movie for anyone. <3
Thanks for the video!
Then I found out Keith David was the villain, and had a song.
Then I fapped and bought tickets.
I'll buy the popcorn if you take me with you!
@Chad, I liked the song excerpt too, but I also did laugh a little because the bits of the song we heard and its piano accompaniment made me think of that Family Guy episode with Randy Newman singing at his piano about what he sees. :)
@Magnalon, yeah, <3 Keith David.

OH NO! :(
Awwwww.
=(
"I haven't been this excited about a non-Pixar Disney movie in a long time!"
Possibly, for me, since Mulan!
I think Mulan was the last really good Disney animated movie. A couple after that had their moments, but Mulan fits in the classic Disney style much better than, say, Lilo & Stitch. I remember being surprised at how much I really enjoyed it.
