When I crawled into work early this morning in a late night Ikaruga/Survivor/Lost induced haze, I stumbled upon a coworker playing this in his office:
OMG! Please tell me you all remember this! I played this little guy religiously all throughout my childhood. Talk about bringing back memories.
For anyone that doesn’t know, Classic Football is a really retro, well, football game. Basically you have to get one dimly lit red light from the left side of the screen to the right using the arrow keys, the whole time avoiding other dimly lit red lights that are moving up and down. No passing. No touchdowns. No tackles. Wait, how is this like football at all?
I borrowed it from my coworker to take the above picture, but I don’t think I want to give it back. Would it be horrible if I returned a stapler to him and tried to pretend it was what he lent me in the first place?

I remember that football game, but I was more of a Tiger handhelds guy myself. God, those sucked so much.

It's the re-release. The original read Mattel Electronics on the top, instead of Classic Football. Now if only someone would re-make Milton Bradley's Microvision system.

:O
I loved that Castlevania handheld. I think the "sword" button makes it into my favorite buttons of all time list.

I didn't play those games for very long though, I had the benefit of having a grandfather who was a commercial airplane pilot and would bring me Game&Watches from Japan.

One thing I'll never forget, in my room, was an old pool table and a beat-down arcade version of that classic electric football dimly-lit, red light game.
And yes, we got drunk and played tha hell outta it... For about a half-hour.
