Alrighty, before I begin, I'd like to mention that I'm new.
HOWEVER, I am new to Destructoid, not to gaming. And if any podcaster from Destructoid is reading this, I'd love to be on any podcast, as I frequently listen to them.
The image below is games I like. The list includes 'Pokemon Red', 'The Orange Box', 'Super Smash Bros. Melee', and 'Bioshock'.
Feel free to tell me why my opinions are wrong. I disliked Ocarina of Time, Portal, GTA4, and Call of Duty 4. Feel free to tell me why they are the best games ever to be placed upon a shelf not deserving of their incredible awesome.
"
Hey,
look! This guy is a
hypocrite, he likes Orange Box but not Portal." Listen, I bought the Orange Box mostly for TF2, and it was incredible. I thought Half Life 2 wasn't bad either. I didn't even hate Portal, just wasn't too fond of it.
"cal fo dutee 4 is d best gaim evahr!!!1111oneoneone noob i hedshot 2" are not reviews. They are mockeries of the English language.
My problem is with those who say something good about a game, or even bad, and can't back it up. I can not tell you how many times I have read an IGN review and seen
"Audio: Flawless. Very ambient and sure to please. 8.7/10" Basically, what I am trying to say is, if you say something about a game, make sure you mean it and can back it up.
..."
Hey,
look! This guy writes posts which barely even focus on the point he is trying to make!" Hey, I said 'Game Ramblings.', and that is what you got.
And in response to DEF JM, I disliked Portal because too much of it was tutorial. I disliked GTA4 because it was too slow for my tastes, and same with Ocarina. Call of Duty 4 I didn't play too much of, admittedly, but what I did play was extremely standard. Nothing special.
My problem with this post is your tone and attitude throughout the whole thing. You make it sound like we are a bunch of gaming elitists who would have problems with you and your opinions. You even make the assumption that we might think you are a "hypocrit" for what games you like and don't like. This is entirely not the case at all. We are not here to judge you.
Think about that next time you write something for everyone to see.
You see, my prior experiences with gaming communities have not been the brightest. I have stated that I enjoy Bioshock only to hear that it is bad because it lacks multiplayer. I have said I like Pokemon only to hear that the graphics are bad. I have said I like the Orange Box, and no one knows what it is.
I only act from prior knowledge.
